  1. hi all after all the questions i asked of you lot out there i have just put my name down for a 917 varmint stainless with laminated stock and thumbhole will be getting it within the week so i'll be posting the rifle asap no scope as yet thou thinking of 6.5-20 x50 wtc simmons or mtc 4-16x50 just seen a thread about scoping a hmr so god knows which way i'll go happy hunting bloody mixi its been a strong one this year in yorkshire and just oredered my new gun DAMN IT

  3. hi all just new to this site ,situation is im waiting for my ticket to come through,on it will be .17 .22 .243 my back ground is lurchers for 15 yrs beating for locals on and off for 20 years now a syndicate member and plus acres to go at ive decided to put in for the firearms my shoot is mainly woodland but i have a lot of people asking for me to do fox control im limited with the long dogs so open ticket it is just need pointers on scope and gun for consistancy legal round 100 grain but is this vital ? touchy subject probably also head shot or engine room ? any mor
  4. i had 2 sheds 1 @8x6(gone) complete with 2 runs (@6x4) and one shed @6x4 whats left is the 6x4 shed with a bob hole in door and all the 2x2 wood+doors and allthe 2" gav mesh from the runs its all dismantled ready to be taken away offers please im 10 miles from whitby north yorkshire
  5. having my firearms in the process at the moment and ive put a .17 hmr and .243 on the ticket,my quarry been in wood land mostly just wondering if someone can help me choose a scope for my shooting to get the maximum light and magnification req'd ive opted for a cz 16"varmint for the .17hmr but not chose a .243 as yet any comments more than welcome please thanks lee
  6. will all the pups be rough coated ie do they breed true to the deer hound coat or do they throw the odd smooth /broken coat also i know grey s tend to have toe probs when graphting in the field ,but what are the deerhound feet like? last question would you say the smallest bitch or dog will be 25" or do they throw and average size and get the odd one size of sire ? thanks for the info
  7. i personally would go for a full whippet maybe a non pedigree one at thas they tend to be a bit bigger 21+ inches they have great reports on the rabbit side and as for the ban they will take larger game if entered properly

  9. had lurchers 15 yrs 1st one had knocked toes and struggled all her hunting life only ok when retired,last one last year run a deer on cliff tops middle of summer (not intended by the way ) and she fractured a middle toe never knew till she never got better and went to the vets only to find tha fracture not healing right so had it off right tight up to knuckle joint but left a stub as if they took all of to knuckle it gets complicated going through the rear pad she was out of action for a month or two but now ok on soft ground but runs a bit gingerly when on dried worked land but if the conditi
  10. its bred from typp ratchers dog "solo" he s a german shepherd x greyhound and he covered a full grey so roughly 3/4 bred but i think the german shep also had a touch wolf hound in down the line or some thing along those lines as it was a pure white

  13. thanks shepp what is the point of been a liar your only bull shixxing yourself ,you know your own dogs capabilities so why exaggerate it ,and when you do get invited somewhere where you can show your dog off because youve said its a world beater you look a right cxxt and then you get a good slagging off on a forum be as honest as your dog is and you wont go far wrong whats wrong with having an average dog they do make mistakes like us and having the best of the best comes once in a blue moon

  15. this is my new set up just bought and erected 2 wks ago a nice 8x6 shed on the left for me to play in 3 kennels 5 ' x 3' runs with with 3x3 x 6'high sleeping quarters and a 8x4 shed on the left a playing palace for my daughter

  24. hi all just new to this web site and forum,im 35 yrs old and started off with alocal shoot beating at the age of 11 ,then got into lurchersat 17 and still have two of them (not same ones obviously) then got into sea fishing of the coast of whitby ,in the last 3 yrs joined a syndicate of 8 rough shooting so bought a black lab, now just put in for my firearms certificate on the ticket ive put in for .22 .17hmr and 243 i like all aspects of hunting / shooting including foxing deer stalking and favourite lamping hope to post some bits and bobs for you all when i get into the full swing of
