  2. i bought one from lidl, they're a good bit of kit not tried them while lamping yet but should be useful for spotting, so you only have to use the lamp on the slip
  3. what a top idea, in all honesty i'd never thought of doing this i take the nets work just as well
  4. give it ago mate, i got myself a needle and a handful of rings from one of the many fieldsports suppliers that sell them, and then i got myself a ball of gardening hemp from the local pound shop( it's not top quality, but it makes serviceable nets and you don't mind cutting it off the ring and starting again). I watched a few of the net making tutorials on the net and then had ago. i was definetly glad i only paid a pound a ball for the hemp, because it took a few attempts. But it certainly gives you a sense of achievment when you nit your own, although the time it takes me i'd never be able m
  5. just looked at the agouti website, looks a cheeper option, about 15 nets for from a £7.50 spool. And looked at the tutarial whilst i was there, seems to use a quicker, tidier method to me . Thanks for the advice, i'll have to give it a try
  6. Got fed up of coming back from ferreting, a net or two light. so i'd been toying with the idea of using orange nets for a while. I picked up a spool of brickies line yesterday, paid £1.95 for 180m, and is bright orange. Only managed 3 nets out of it, and went for the thickest i could get but on hind sight could probably done with going a little thinner. Has anyone else tried it and what do you think? Does anyone have any alternatives?

  11. do it in a alleyway or hallway indoors, then its got no where to run off to,lots of encouragement, dont bore the shit out of it though, little at a time, cuddly toy or socks usually do the trick, even get a rabbit skin and make a dummey bang on!that's how Ive always done it.1 thing I'll add,its got to be a game for the pup, dont gget carried away with early success when the pup starts lossing intrest in the session stop aand move the dummy out of sight and do it all again later.when you get a good retriving dog dont be tempted to drop the catches for your mate's pups to bring em on that spoiled
  12. Alright, so the articles in the cmw are not up to the standard that the shooting news used to be. Which lets face it was a cracking read. But whether we like it or not times have changed, and maybe the cmw is like it is through self-preservation. After all it is a magazine thats on sale in newsagents, and anyone can pick up and read. If it had more graffic detail in, how long would it be before your anti posing as concerned joe public complains that its a bloodsports mag, and that their poor jonny picked it up in the newsagents and is now mentally scared. Shit i know, but thats the way the cou

A little tip if your worried about unwanted attention from dogs when your bitch is in season. soak a rag in petrol and wipe it around her back end, works a treat. mind, i did this the other week, anyway laid in bed having a lay-in, when my son burst into the room and said my bitch jess had run out of petrol, and rover the mongrel next door was pushing her around the garden
