  1. http://californiacatchers.com/index.asp?ID=22 have a look that site mate Good guy with good dogs hunting in the most anti hunting state in the U.S.
  2. It is but many people are testing for it now and breeding accordingly. Every one that we've tested has been free.... That said... I'm more worried about how well they can smell, than see.... and to tell the truth... if hunted regularly many if not most will be dead long before developing the disease. We started testing once we started line breeding, and in hindsight it was the right thing to do.
  3. Last I heard I think they wanted something like two thousand dollars for a pup......You could get one from anywhere in the world and have it flown to you for that price
  4. Looks like a journeyman of a dog..... good luck, hope he makes the cut.
  5. That last sentence is the truth the whole truth and nothing but.....Thanks theankare666. I may have to borrow that one from you.
  6. They could be legally shot and killed for this here in Texas. I hope they are caught and someone stomps a mud hole in their asses and walks it dry. I'll post the video to FB with your permission. Good luck man.
  7. Thanks guys..... We needed them. But it's the first litter for both dogs. Could go either way.
  8. I ended up with Darby... she was a nice dog with a great work ethic but not as good as the jagds I keep. I bred her to a Russel to fulfill the bargain I made when I got her, and kept back two 3/4 Russel pups that seem to be doing fine.
  9. You SHOULD keep walking them together.....They have to screw up so that they can learn NOT to. There's been some sound advice given here. They will learn not to fight with each other or any dog for that matter if you insist on it. They are only pups....Grown dogs can be cured of this more often than not, keep after them they will do you proud.
  10. With all due respect you need to get a handle on them now. They are pups man.... their teeth aren't even all the way in! This is an easy fix with pups of any type.....You need to get their attention and be consistent. You can have them where they won't even look at each other inside of a week.
  11. Good luck Bobby! Hope they do you proud.
  12. your wrong here but i should have also said my AB is a nervus dog and beleave ot or not i can not take him out he just pulls all the way back home or runs of back to the car he had being ill treat when i got him hes house bound and thats were he is happy i have a big yard and play with him in there.i can be in a field and one loud noise and hes gone back to the car.people say i should put him down but end of the day hes got a nice life and he happy with the way it is. It's simple math man....When a dog takes in more calories than it burns it gains weight.... when it burns more than it
  13. The dog will lose weight if you cut it's feed... it'll go faster with work in the beginning. It's simple math... and you determine the outcome. No disrespect intended but the only variable in this equation is you.
  14. A dog that does what it was bred to do day-in, and day-out is a good dog..... nothing more.... nothing less. In doing so it earns it's name and some respect. It also earns it's place on the yard, and after time and some success, MAYBE the right to breed. I don't understand the desire to label an earth/hunting dog as game.....These little warriors deserve better. The tasks expected of them are no less demanding than those of a bulldog..... they are partly responsible for the EXISTENCE of the bulldog, and in this day and age their existence is as threatened as that of the true bulldog. I
  15. For bushing, hunting above or in the ground you will need drive coupled with intelligence and nose. Without good drive and the nose to keep up with that drive you wont get far hunting anything from rabbits to foxes. When you see a dog with the scent of a rabbit not far away and all it does is plod up and down and clings to the scent not quite sure what to do with it and often going back on the heel and pondering some more, then your chances of a catch or flush are low.A good busher would do like a good hound and drive forward on the scent with confidence and hopefully panic the rabbit into indec
  16. Seen this the other day and thought it was pretty funny. https://www.(!64.56:886/photo.php?v=3653895006187&set=vb.121717654505846&type=2&theater
  17. . Find. It a struggle to express your self !!!!! Lol Yes sir..... I am. I couldn't do them justice I suppose. I've tried to put it to words... but always seem to come up short.
  18. He's around..... PM me and I'll point you in the right direction.
  19. Best I could do mister is give you a list of animals that were......Had you seen them or their kind... you'd know. I couldn't do them justice if I tried. Maybe gameness means something to you..... maybe the same thing.... maybe something altogether different....There may well be game dogs hunting somewhere..... but you'll never even catch a glimpse of true gameness while hunting your dog. This probably is a topic best left alone.
  20. There are very few GOOD jagdterriers in the states. By good I mean good in the traditional sense. There is one that is a complete and utter freak of nature that has been hunted to ground most of his life. He's been hunted in brush piles and free cast. He isn't a particularly good tracker.... but he tracks and locates well enough. His name is Alfi od Plavog Korala and he is a straight up killer. He bites like a bulldog and will shake a coon out of his own hide. He is some kind of Jurrassic Park freak type throwback sht..... and he's under twenty pounds. He's getting on up in age now
  21. Tough call..... What's fair to one man is highway robbery to the next. I have four that were born two days ago and I'm not selling any. If they all survive the initial once over, I'll send one to a friend in Mexico city and raise the rest. Your best bet is to do what you do when you get any terrier from someone you don't know... just go hunt with the parents. That'll give you a chance to discuss what's fair and what isn't....I've seen them go for as much as 1000 and I've seen them gifted to folks who will work them. If you've got money burning a hole in your pocket I'd figure somewhere in the
  22. You get no argument from me there brother.
  23. That's great news..... We'll all sleep better knowing you approve of "several men and a couple of women over the briny." The topic must have been a struggle for you?
