I know what you mean mate,after moling the other day i done some minnie drives to a mate with the lurchers mr foxy came out and you can guess a course then straight back to the cover in wind bushes when it bolted 10 mins later and been running round and round in thick cover it went to a ditch with a triple barbed wire the bitch jumped and snagged of the fence ripped back leg to bits she will be fit in a week or so though its just a pitty though!

If no one has an AKITA x GREYHOUND then they cant say its useless until tried and tested am im correct? I was also thinking it would be a heavy type but a 2nd generation would do the trick,then its time time time!

Why is it some people cant see by the end of there nose.Tell me one thing where this breed would do better than the well knowen breeds who knows untill you try ,you wont know Well mate been in the game 35 years this breed will never make it as a lurcher.Got nothing to give WoW realy so this hasnt even been done and you say nothing to give to the lurcher! UP HERE IN THE GLASGOW AREA ALL THE WOULD BE SCHEME GANGSTERS HAVE DITCHED STAFFIES 2 GET AKITAS. IN KEEPING WITH MOST SPITZ BREEDS,THEY AINT SAFE OFF THE LEASH. WHAT WOULD THEY BRING 2 A WORKING LURCHER EXCEPT HASSLE???? These dog are obviously in the wrong hands,and can you explain more an=bout the hassel part to a working lurcher?

As above not about the full breed mate,funny enough a member of my family works in the local kennels and manages to be bitten of alot of dogs!

No this lad has years of experience with guard, bull and mastiff breeds. He knows his stuff. They were bred and trained as guard dogs but were too unstable. Could this not be one of not many,this pup came from a family they had 3 kids and 4 akita's 2 male 2 female aged between 5 and 7,they never turned on him kids other dogs or his cat and its not about the full breed its about crossing an akita over a greyhound! I could understand some sayng its pointless if they were completely soft had no instict at all but you would want some aggression in there or they would be heartless and us

are you talking from experience or are you one of the majority A good friend had one.Attacking other dogs at the drop of a hat f*****g nightmare,You cant have other dogs around them.No good in the lurcher world unless you whant one dog and no friends so it would be no good putting a bull to a greyhound or a collie they attack other dogs people and babys,well i can see where not guna get anywhere,people with interest,and good point keep posting!

good job we dont think all the same Some people dont look futher than the tip of there nose! You think its a waste of time,what your reason for thinking this! Everything about this dog is saying its a natural born hunter and has been for 100's of years,over a grey you will be slimming down adding some speed! Im not saying this would be a cross which everyone would want to have, or a world beater. But it could be a good cross!

its like a lot of things mate if you think to much a bout it you dont do it.Just go a head and try it you might have a nice surprise Someone with a male japanese or american akita on here should maybe consider it if i had a holding and a decent grey bitch i could ask the lad who bred this pup to use his akita over the bitch,but then its 2 years of bringing them on and maybe 10 pups,who would be up to the task who wouldnt!

One its a puppy.Two i only read a little on them.Three someone may have already tried so will wait and see if i get anyone who has! Maybe one day it will be worth a shot,god loves a tryer and if no-one has tried then it could be perfect! a bloke bred them 3 years ago i was goimg to buy one but just missed out. They sold really quickly. The bloke used them for everythink big and small saw aload of pictures and vids of the stuff they caught. Hence why i was trying to track him down as lost his number. I was thinking the same what if you waste so many years trying,but then i thought about every other cross and they would have took the same time and longer! It would seem to be a waste if it wasnt tried as everything about them says there born fighters,hunters etc crossed with a greyhound to get some electric pace in there you could have yourself a beast! Good feet so ive read excellent coates and so on!

From what i have read they are hard to train and must start from young,there very loyal and protective over family and whats theres,it says knower days there used as guard dogs,and should be one dominant person controlling the animal!
