  8. try kentish falconry, assuming you have flown other birds?
  9. Tbh i think you should find a mentor fast if you want to do it justice and not fall ill. Also bigger birds are better when just starting off, even if your missus said size doesnt matter. Of course, i am not saying a sea eagle would be ideal for a starter bird but a harris, buzzard or redtail would be perfect for you.
  10. My best/ favourite worker was found by my neighbour in rat holes in his garden so i said id take her. Never looked back. The way i see it, if a ferret can live in rat holes for some time it must be feeding itself and in turn a good worker. She hates rats with a passion, if there one in my cage trap shel do everything she can to get at it.
  11. yeah, especially as when i go hunting i walk and on my return it is dark, my hawk is scared of streetlights so it proves beneficial.
  12. i agree with rocky, and i bet there would be a few members who've been had by peddlers before who'd go with you
  13. they will breed (obviously wont have babies), but the hob will continue to try breed causing fights
  14. i too fancied a change, but i knew a lot more regarding gosses than you, go out on a few days with the closest clubs to you, this will give you a sense of flying types etc. they dont follow on unless encouraged to do so. with imprints most people do not recall to the fist as this causes aggression and instead recall to the lure. buy a few books, and if imprinting, i suggest the imprint goshawk part 1&2 dvd by dave jones
  15. i think the majority will do it for free, if only you were closer
  16. the rumour in liverpool is 13m and ngog and yes your right, he is crap.
