  1. do you have falconry experience? Corvids and smaller really
  2. dont really fancy a lanner, my mum likes them but if i was going for a falcon i'd go for a pure perregrine. i wouldnt go for an older bird as there usually for sale for some reason or another and your buying other people crap basically. i was looking at a male gos because there around £500 and could be flown at crows and seagulls etc. this would be fun considering my permission is a coastal golf course. i basically shortlisted a few;Goshawk Red tail hawk Sparrowhawk Peregrine. welcome to more ideas
  3. had a harris sice 08 and this year my dad is getting one to fly with me on our permission at rabbits. but aswell as flying with my dad im after a completely different challenge, different flying style etc. to fly at pheasents or crows closer to my house, what should i get i cannot decide, i will have around £600 to spend. toyed with the idea of a male gos, but realise there are so many things that can go wrong and wouldnt want to risk the bird.
  4. cant help you with that, but i beg you not to tell anyone the location
  5. pea gravel would be best, astro turf is harder to clean and in turn harbours bacteria. i use sand and sieve it, this leaves clean sand and a bucket full of excrement, pellets etc.
  6. Mate, that's a con if ever there was one! Don't reply to any of his calls or emails, completely cut him off. Everyone is always crowing about how great Paypal is .............. reckon any of them will give you the £350 you are sure to lose back? I doubt it! Even if the money clears in your account, he can easily do a chargeback and get it taken back off you. IT IS A SCAM! gutted, i have asked him when he is home so he can pay and even pick it up or pay in cash.
  7. i have just joined paypal as i am selling my air rifle for 600, the fella im selling to wants to arrange his own courrier. he is out of the country and they wont send the courrier unless he pays moving commision first. because of this he has sent me £950 (600 for gun, 300 for courrier, 50 for money gram. he has asked me to 'Wire' them the money. i have recieved an email off paypal saying he has sent the money but its not in my account, obviously i dont want to send the money of my own incase its his company and after this he just cancels or something and ive spent £350. how do i get the mone

has anyone read 'training the short-winged hawk'? what was it like? are there any better books regarding shortwings, preferably goshawks?
  10. what fox callers would you recomend?

  11. the fairs last day today JJM, did any get any bargains? a list of what i bought for my FHH; large bath - £25 transport box - £95 tail mount - £5 with bell Pair of bells - £5 flying jesses - £3 anklets (rivet) - £4.50 cable ties - £1 harris hawk days by martin hollishead - £12.50 urban goshawk dvd - £6 (an absolute disgrace)
  12. on your falconry page you have used a picture of a falcon (understandably) but it may be an idea to include an image of some of the more practical rabbit hawks, i.e. harris hawk, gos hawk, redtail hawk etc. here's two of my harris' and one of when i brought her out of moult and was refreshing her memory with the dummy bunny
  13. you have to read up about them, take courses and get a mentor before buying all of the equptment and a redtail. all together it will accumulate to over £1000
  14. the air gun hunting section is for write ups on hunting trips, the review section is for people reviewing / asking for reviews on certain pieces of equiptment, the general airgun disscussion section is for general airgun discussion
  15. you could go the falconry fair at the weekend
  16. thanks mate, we also found someone had burnt some of the warrens and holes of others with gravel
  17. well the falconry fair is yet again approaching and i was wondering who is going? im intending to go on the sunday even though it has been moved further away from where i live but i use it to buy my stuff for the forthcoming season im going to convince my nan to come with me as she loves spending money on me
  18. on your " the wild rabbit" page you have mis-spelt prey and on your "rabbit control page" you have put 'cases' where i think you mean 'causes'
  19. went to my permissions at the weekend with the intention of getting a few pigeons. stopped on the way at field sports equipe to pick up a hw silencer. on the first day i got a pigeon, neck shot as i forgot to compensate for the gravitational pull but it dropped dead. my mate had a shot on a rabbit but completely fluffed it that was the end of the night as we lamped a fox and no more rabbits came out we also found some one had been feeding it on the second day we bumped into the greenkeeper and he asked us to kill any rabbits we see "even the babies" he said i had no intentions of taki
  20. a shop local to me has a small indoor range, ideal for testing out what might suit your needs ok your not going to earn money off it as such but indirectly it helps i reckon, dont think this is such common practice as it might seem, its the only one i know local to me that has the facility though thats a very good point, it would attract customers who are looking to test their guns or guns they want to buy and while they are there they may run out of pellets and need to buy some you could also charge people to use the range
  21. obvious things like scopes, silencers alot of people buy camo aswell so maybe the stock covers, scope covers, silencer covers, the tape in general but most of all a very competitive price
  22. ive done work on this in my fish husbandry course, its not just about the fish. its about letting the bankside vegetaion grow back on pegs and the ducks etc that are breeding.
  23. im going to rhyl at the weekend and it has become kind of ritual as i go every year. any way i have allways fished in the sea or for trout and was wondering; are any bass comin out between prestatyn and kimnel bay? what is coming out between kimnel bay and prestatyn and what the average catch amount? has anyone caught any of the mullet in rhyl harbour? does anyone have any good coarse fisheries for me to try within say 10 miles of rhyl? alot of question but thankyou in advance
