Well its been a long time in the making but I have finally got there. I applied for my renewal in oct 2006 and after being turned down by Firearms Lic Branch here in Nothern Ireland in feburary 2008 , yes ,2008 because I was not a fit person ????? It would appear that because I suffer from depression I am not the sort of person Firearms branch want to hold a gun. While I would agree that those with mental health issues need to be checked more throughly to ensure they are not a danger to themselves and others, to label them all as unfit is somewhat unfair. Firearms Branch took the vie

Shotgun Certificate, anxiety on Medical records
sean replied to rondo's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
guys yous are lucky. I suffered from depression and was on anti depressants for several years, sent of my renewal , to the firearms lic branch here in Northern Ireland. it took them 16 months to decide I was not a fit person even though my Doctor said I was fine. Have had to appeal to the Northern Ireland office (2 months ago) and got a pychiatrist to say same- that I was fit and of no danger- and sent it along with the appeal -still waiting If the appeal fails I will be going to the next stage whatever that is. I hope to sit down some day and write it all out for everyone, but wai -

Guys and dolls can u get a sound mod for an air rifle without having to thread the barrel. Have a gamo hunter 440 and was just wondering is it possible to fit one (or is there one on market ) without threading. sean

donny c thanks for reply and the extra info, JRT Iam happy with my gamo/ strut mod. does what i want it to do at distances I am happy with ,what more could I ask. Why is it when someone trys to give his advise and opinion someone always wants to slate them of.If you dont agree with a comment you can voice yours in a productive manner with out being so rude. If we can have respect for our quarry why not for each other sean

larsen and ladder trap at work in co.fermanagh
sean replied to sean's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Ditch not a bad idea at all, why not start a thread and see what the views are. Think it would be good if your on holidays etc and wore the badge and met up with a fellow trapper, snarer. An international symbol ????? Maybe we could make a few quid/euro for a charity at same time. Sean -

little lloyd yes built it myself , got the idea from another forum member. It is sectional so can be dismantled and moved and if there is any damage its just a case of removing one section and bring it away to get repaired. Sad i know but just dont like hard work sean -
chalkwarren thanks for taking time to explain it , had done alot of searching on net but could not find them in USA. Tight old me always on lookout for cheapies , its just wifey gets pissed when stuff arrives in post and i tell her how much ££££££. Does anyone know a supplier over there that I could buy of. Sorry to any UK based dealers but I am a tight and if I can get at a reduced price means I have more beer tokens Sean

my stoat trapping challenge.this trap ok?
sean replied to sambo123's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
sambo dont take it to heart, i used to watch in on this site for a while, before i ever posted. I learnt that it is not a personnel attack its just the way the guys and dolls get on, they are all up to a bit of slagging one way or another. Your turn will come when one of them post a picture with things in the background and u can have a bit of fun at their expense There are some great people with alot of info, its just sometimes they enjoy taking the p*ss before ,during or after they give a reply. as one great trapper says (not me yet) Happy Hunting Sean -
John Got the book, very good, has given me plenty of ideas, specially the triggers, some very simple ,even I can make. A definite for those making or thinking of making their own traps. bign thanks John Sean

john the door cant be seen as its on the side nearest the wall, i have made the door small so it will open inwards. Will have to learn to limbo have drilled holes in order to take coach bolts and am using wingnuts with them so dont need to carry a spanner, I just want to make it as portable and easy to put up and down as possible. Was going to put a few tunnels at ground level but not sure what size they should be , any advise very welcome. Sean ps got your message no rush, when they arrive send on copy s
