  1. Cheers lads, yeah I have spoken to the lads in the country store, I get my air rifle pellets from there so am fairly regular. A handy hint about the other shop though cheers, I will most likely be taking up that offer of shooting with you Halamrose. I heard he was a shooting man so thats ideal. Should all go to plan I will let you boys know and hopefully get some pics up of my purchases and results. cheers lads
  2. Finally sent of my SGC application and bolted my cabinet to the wall. I know its posted but, for the cambridge constabulary, what are they likely to ask me? I have researched the laws... any that anyone knows that arent blindingly obvious?
  3. Cheers lads. just every one is telling me that you have to have two keys. worth knowing about the security aspect though. I will get another one cut, just wondering if the process was different for cabinet keys because the key cutter would effectively have access to your cabinet.
  4. Hi I am buying a second hand cabinet. what are the laws and guidelines for getting a second key cut for it? the cabinet is all good but it only has one key will this be a problem for my SGC?
  5. Very easy to fit in my BSA Supersport and I love mine. sharper recoil and louder crack as mentioned. Pretty darn consistent in my gun. you can get them of Theoben, there used to be a top man on the site who had something to do with AWT and sold them too... deffo a good investment if your into your self compressed guns, The only other thing that I found impoves a springer is setting the scope on a lower mag such as 6 or 7.
  6. Cheers lads, been looking at gun clubs and there arent too many around here :/ and the ones i did find seem to ask for SCG number on the entry forms.
  7. my barrel has a shot pattern like that of a shotgun with rws but with aa it shoots nice. try them.
  8. think its 18 mate... But there is a pinned topic at the top of this section that tells you all the laws etc.
  9. Right I have filled in my SGC forms, looking seriously at gun cabinets and found local clubs and checked with my permissions whether its ok for me to use a shotgun on their land rough shooting. Now before I send my forms and part with my money on a cabinet, how much am I seriously looking at for a gun? I will be starting on clays and then in future doing pigeon decoying and rough shooting. Now im not one for buying a cheap starter gun that only just cuts the crap and want a decent gun that will last me and provide a good shoot each and every time I want to use it. What price range will a suita
  10. And at what range can a shotgun cause serious injury?
  11. excellent!! do you reckon you can achieve that accuracy with a springer? it should be possible.
  12. Yep bullmastif has it right. in the Vid the guy demonstrates this exact theory.
  13. Different guns like different pellets and no two barrels are the same.... try them out. the part about them not squashing like lead pellets is not necessarily a good thing as the deformation of a pellet makes it wider thus a larger wound channel.

  15. the "fieldsports channel" did one of their videos on bow hunting and the guy explains and demonstrates the two different weapons and how they kill...http://www.fieldsportschannel.tv/index.php/yoursport/archery-a-bowhunting
  16. Hia lads i just accumulated two rusty old springers that im hoping i will be able to bring back to their former glory. i will start with my favored one first. It is a BSA airsporter underlever, the serial number is GL12901 what model is this? The next question is, has anyone got a step by step guide to dismantling this particular model? any tips on how to remove excessive rust? and general tips on bringing this gun back up to scratch... i have had some experience with air rifle tuning, for example on my supersport. All tips wecome! thanks guys.
  17. Put your tubby bit of hand to your mouth and suck until it makes a sqeaking noise, keep still and the fox should come in. This will probably piss someone off, but out last night after the rabbits i saw mr fox around 100 yards away and as i had my camera with me decided to call him in, called him in to around 15 yards before he realised i was a pretty darn big rodent in distress unfortunately it was too dark for the photo to show up and i only had an air rifle with me so couldnt add him to the bag. give it a go though mate.
  18. Squirrel is great meat! top restraunts in london are serving them. they are an absolute bitch to skin as said, and they also stink to high heaven!
  19. Ok lads a substitute for chair gun for the iphone so you can take it out in the field is Ballistic v2.3.9 deluxe. just got the update for so it is now compatible with air rifles.
  20. Haha good point it's probably bloody sleeping in a dog kennel somewhere oh well I'm sure if it nicks a cheeky chicken you will catch it in the act.
  21. look on the bright side mate, that fox getting fed by hand is not a problem for the farmer and if it is all you have to do is rest the gun up shake a bowl of food and Bang. easy pest control
