    It is probably cormarants in the trees mate and you can not shoot them without a licence.

    The most we have had this season is 32, but i would say a avarage bag would be about 5-10

    I don't see why you would put a ferret into a warren without the intention of catching the rabbits. If the Farmer/Landowner gives you permission to ferret on there land I am sure that they would want you to get rid of the rabbits not just scare them. In reply to the main question I think that it shows that you have done a good job and lowered the numbers on the land.

    Went ferreting last Sunday on some new permission which borders old permission we have. we had a hard day having to dig about 5 times as the rabbits were not bolting in the small burrows and we managed to take 2 rabbits out of one stop end which was a first for us. Overall total for the day was 23 Not as many as last time but still a very nice bag.

    Went out to set some snares for the first time the other night. we only put them on fence runs then went round the rest of the land for a lamp with the rimfire. managed to get 7 rabbits in the snares and 12 with the gun so good night all in all.

    We have been to this permission 3 already this season. First day there we got 22 second time we got 15 and that was the third. And we still haven't done all the burrows yet. Its absolutely heaving up there so hoping we get some more nice bags there through the season. Thanks for all the comments.

    Out ferreting this satarday, took 2 experienced jills and 2 of this years kits. All worked well and Managed to get a nice bag of 32 for the day.

    Thanks for the comment, its actually just one big hutch there is a gap between the mesh and the shelving on the right so they can climb up and down the floors.

    Hi I'm new to ferreting and keeping ferrets I went out with my Jill the other day and now I have noticed she had a few ticks so I removed them but one of them popped and the head was left in. Do I need to take her to the vets or will she be ok? Its just that I have heard it could get infected.
