  1. Hi all, well we managed a couple of hours on sunday, and also managed to gain some more permission on another farm, had a walk round with the farmer and he showed us where to ferret next time we come, theres some cracking little sets which havnt been done for donkeys anyway a little snow on the ground but didnt stop us, managed to get 7 and kept 2 alive for the pup, and we also missed a few but a very enjoyable morning in good company atb nic
  2. Hi mate Never tried or know anyone who has tried wool to make nets, but i can imagine they get snagged on brambles & twigs more than hemp nylon or poly nets. Cant imagine them being as strong as the materials used today either, also they probably hold more moisture than poly or nylon, but personally i woudnt use them But if they work for him then great,& saving a bit of money on the wool aswell atb nic

Thats the first time i'v known anyone get five black rabbits the same outing , i'v had the odd one, but i suppose some places are more populated with blacks than others, must be something to do with more domestic ones being let loose or escaping & breeding with wild ones anyway they all count good going mate atb nic
  6. Hi all! Well we decided to give it a go today although forecast wasnt good we got to the farm at about 8.30 quick coffee and away we went very slow start with the rabbits just not bolting and giving the ferrets the run around we had 2 layups so 2 digs each producing 1 rabbit. like i said for some reason the bunnys seemed to be just sittig tight or just coming to the entrance of the hole smelling the air and deciding not to bolt and taking a chance with the ferrets anyway the rain held off and we enjoyed the day even though there was a bit of digging and a bit of waitng around That

Hi all, we started our season about a week ago, and not bad for 4 hours, we got on our new spot at about 7.45 and after a quick coffee we got cracking, weather was beautiful, sunny crisp morning , rabbits didnt seem to want to bolt first couple of sets but it wasnt long before we started to see some action , anyway 1 layup so 1 dig, not too bad though only 2ft, stopend 2 rabbits, apart from that it went quite smoothly, ferrets worked well its only there second season so they will only improve, we did miss a few due to the cover still being a little thick & some new setts that we wer
