    tdjnr here, in my opinon, alot can depend on the spots that u r going to work the dog in, if u r working a hard(mute) terrier,then i would say keep them to shallow places n see hw u go..if the style of the dog is mix,bay,start shallow n work them up to bigger spots (read the dog), an out an out bayer, ne were that u can get to him , within reason... my choice is the mix/bay... the most important thing that i think makes a complete earthdog, is that they stay..wat ever the style..

    hi dog fox ,a no what you mean about dog digging on in soft stuff ,can be very bad ,j,c, was with the fox and was fine when lifted out perhaps a bit thirsty ,cheers pall !!

    how long you been an expert ? the original mark was 7 meters inside the holle at the bottom of dig there is a 5 foot deep trench which goes in 8 feet ,thanks for your comment !!

    this was a rescue situation pall ,not about dead foxes 30 odd feet down and 8 feet tunneld in ,the dog was the prime objective and we got him !!

    a friend had a call earlier in the wk off a keeper, sayin he was hav in trouble, so we arranged to go dwn to help out, on arrival, the keeper pointed us in the direction of a big wooded area, as we got into the would we could see a fresh 3 holer, didnt look the best spot, as it ran into bank... hopein it wud run to the sides, we collard jc up in he went.. had a listen nothin, gave im ten min, then got a mark 7.4... shit, we decided to take a big wedge out the bank, get to a level n den blip up again.. levelled out n best mark we could get was 4.1, we kept going by this time dark was come in ,
