  4. cheers lad. ya give it a go ya never know till ya try it lol. i tried the typicial silver invicta which i heard was after taking a few trout, tried the peter ross and the teal blue and silver. when i took that fish i had that black pennal on the point fly, mallard and claret on the middle dropper and had another made up fly which kind of looks like the macaw dabbler as top dropper. i was thinking that the flashy top dropper would get a fishes attention and mabey they would then take one of the others. dont know if that was the case but i did catch a few other trout that day but they werent
  5. cheers lad it took what i call a black pennal variant that i tied myself. instead of a orange with black tip tail i tied it with a yellow tail. normal black body with silver wire rib but a brown hackle instead of black. was a size 14 hook a bit of a made up fly lol the salmon i caught was an alaskan king salmon though so hence the weight lol i know 4 1/2 lb aint really big for uk and especially wales standards as ye have some huge specimens caught every year.lucky feckers lol.
  6. i have caught some rainbow,s over 10lb but i dont really count them lol. i took my biggest wild fish yesterday on loch currane. not the biggest but i was well chuffed. a 4 1/2 lb sea trout. as keeping with the topic my biggest salmon is 55lb
  7. if your looking or a hare dog then why dont ya cross your saluki with a saluki or a salukix grey. i know some whippets cath hares but there not out n out hare dogs. they will miss alot more than they will catch imho. for a hare i dont see the reason to cross a saluki with a whippet.
  8. or lack of imagination or the owner being one track minded. ya see alot of fox dogs, alot of hare dogs, alot of lamping rabbit dogs but not many dogs that will all of the above and then go ferreting the following day.

  14. Aah, The Poachers Rest. I registered on there, made two posts, neither of them, obscene, argumentative ,or abusive in any way.One correcting Mr Gallagher, regarding dogs winning both the doubles ,and singles of the Forley Cup,as I remember, he stated Alan Sankey was the only owner to do it [with Dancer] .I said Don Southerd did it as well,[with Lady]. I was then banned. No explanation nothing. yep i also got banned for daring to have a different opinion to Darren So, it's not a site for discussion, debate and argument ? Pointless going on it !! LOL !! Cheers. completely poin
  15. Maybe it's me but I couldn't give a flying f**k if people ruin their OWN sport by running stuff out of season so long as they don't f**k up my sport who cares. thats absolutely spot on lad

  19. Ireland came second in last years competition & won a Grand Slam the year before. This the third year running they've beaten England.. In all fairness, given today's result they were only an incorrectly given try (against Wales) away from a triple crown this year.. No Mate, I'm sorry but for those of us living outside the great English media bubble, today's result wasn't anything out of the ordinary.. spot on reply
