  1. think its to stop people coming on who just try and sell stuff without contributing to the site before hand
  2. i'm glad to be back nell. well baz make sure you and your pal are ready to pay up the pups at the moment have had quite a few daytime rabbits, i had my young bitch what i got off lofty out last friday up the moors on the beam and she did really well for her first night out, she watched my pals dog run a few and after that it was everything i wanted, from running the beam to retrieving to hand. over the years ive seen alot of lads who will only use there dog for one specific job ie coursing. thats not my way of thinking, i would much prefur the dogs to be capable at lamping or hunting game
  3. Did you own a dog calledFlint Shaun? A popular way to introduce a pup is to slip it in on course when a made dog is allready running big ears,I have allways started mine, pre ban by slipping them doubled up,I think a lot of it depends on the individual dog and its breeding, many coursing men I know give a youngster selected runs from a quite early age,of course the danger is that the short slip to cover turns out to be a stinger ,with the hare ignoring the easy escape ,and straight lining the dog.If you had Flint ,I dont think you need any advice on this.Regards Inan. cheers inan, yeah i s
  4. im starting the season with a couple of young dogs which when they are right in my mind will be run on hares but also used from general mooching to lamping. what i would like to hear is peoples different methods at starting and entering there young dogs from exercising to running there first rabbit. pleasing no bitching on this one, i want everyone to have a open mind on this
  5. that looks the best mr d , the land in question has double hedge fencing around it which would be ideal for that method, cheers
  6. if its broken and its the outside toe i would get it removed , but if its a inside toe definatly leave it on or you will find that it will put more strain on the other toes which could end up breaking aswell, if they do take it off make sure they use the excess skin, they need stitch that back over the stump to create a pad , if was you i would be asking for advise at the nearest dog track on decent vets ,hope everything works out
  7. what can yeah say , just read this through from the beginning and its still trying to put a square block into a round hole , ingnorance must be bliss for some people
  8. Why are you getting frustrated? How much saluki is in your dogs and whats there kill ratio on hares on the fens? its like putting square blocks into round holes, which one would you like to know the amount of saluki is in them ? ive got two retired dogs and two twelve month old ups, so take your pick
  9. cheers joe , one of the guys who is in the shoot mentioned something like that
  10. , breed blind lol, just use the right dog for job and not many pure saluki's are used down there. all of mine are brought up on small land bushing lamping , marking walls then are run down the fens
  11. you say heavily saturated saluki's would be the best option ? so what amount would you put into them ?
  12. i need some help from you guys, means and methods of trapping pheasants alive, ive got some permision on some land where the wife keeps her horses and it borders a large shooting estate, ive been given permision off the land owner to trap some birds and relocate them to my pals shoot because the amount of birds which are on there , they are starting to spook the horses when they take flight thats the main reason he wants them off , we cant shoot them because of the horses and he dont care much for it , so any idea's on trapping them and how ? pictures would help aswell
  13. some people will never listen and learn baz i used to get this 20yrs ago around here,, then suddenly the majority of people who owned collie x's or snacks who slagged me off saying your dogs wont kill anything around here , suddenly started to use the saluki blood in there breeds, and not many of them will ever run on the fens
  14. the slagging starts when they dont or cant think of anything constructive to say then its out with the dummy . (stamina), a collie has plenty of stamina at its own pace , where a saluki has stamina with pace.

  16. denver max rodeo the new models are suplyed with a power pack to boost the horse power. we use it to pull a ifor williams horse trailor with a 16.1 horse inside and it does the job easy with a good mpg , it also does a good job off road with the dogs with the correct tyres on. new model is just out with a more powerfull engine
