Trouble is, they don’t breed strikers any more do they mate. I’m probably way off but a the moment I can think of Haaland & Solanke……most others are basically goal scoring wingers. Cole Palmer is a goal scoring 10 from what I can see of it…..so is Kane in reality. See, I have always believed that a proper striker needs to be one horrible b*****d, they would kick a baby out the way to score but academy’s have not been manufacturing those for a long time…..these 8 stone midgets are never strikers, they just ain’t physical enough. That’s where I nicked that phrase but it actually fitted quiet nice with what I was trying to convey. He told me that in the POW camp they would steal potato peelings which were well on their way to being rotten out of the kitchen waste heap, I suppose after that, everything’s a rump steak ! Lol

Necessity I’d imagine does wonders for the menu. My old man would eat things that would make a goat puke but that all came from growing up in a family of 9 in the 20s & 30s and then 5 years in a pow camp in the war……it became almost like a party trick to make everyone scream, but he also knew what mushrooms to pick in fields and stuff like that. But mouldy bread, any type of game or offal or squirrels or anything odd….not a bother, he’s make a meal out of most of it.

To be fair, the British isles food culture (including ireland) is f****d…..go to Paris and there’s fishmongers and greengrocers and butchers and all of it looks fantastic. There is a fair movement of people (many of who are English) here now buying places that enable them to feed themselves and doing so…….

You wouldn’t believe the absolute dipshits I used to aim out of our lake mate which was always colourful seeing as the ticket was £300…..Carp fishing is an industry and I personally never wanted anything to do with all the bollocks surrounding it. However, when it comes to antis and banning it, we was dealing with antis on the bank nearly 40 years ago when I was a kid…..no mobile phones then so they used to get the shit kicked out of them if they didn’t leave. But fishing just don’t convey the same imagery to the public as a fox torn to pieces by a bull greyhound or a terrier with it

I believe the garfish is of the Mackerel family but people don’t eat them because they are put off by their green bones, they are perfectly edible. As for carp, never tried it but the chinks and Eastern Europeans seem to love them and the reason we have them in the UK is because they were originally the food stuff of monks who kept them for precisely that reason. But I think a lot of it is that people don’t really want to prepare their own food, I was on a fishing trip a few years back in the Atlantic off the Sligo coast. Great sentiment but all based on a false premise…… The bit the author is overlooking is that firstly, the two main party’s couldn’t give a flying f**k about the average British bloke, his way of life or what he thinks. All this talk about replacing Ten Haag mate, I actually think he has is doing an amazing job……he is digging out little results, bringing in young players, playing some entertaining football and all with a toxic mess of a club he inherited and is having to try and put right on the job……I genuinely don’t think he gets enough credit for just what he has done far and is doing there.
