    used to be in a syndicate up there for 4 years rut seemed to usually start 7 days after it starts here.I think were 10 14 days off. best time i found up there was 1st week in august, good luck with the midges.

    I have found this also bucks seen from first light to 4.30am then nothing more all morning. they are there all the time just not visable for foliage.

    My ground is same on all of it and its very varied and spread out accross 2 counties, my view is because the bucks do,nt eat much during the rut. so they are deep in cover bulking up trying to get on as much wieght and size they can, getting ready for all of the running about in the up comming weeks.

    i do not allow my clients to use any plastic points unless they are buying the carcass even if neck shot. meat damage and brusing is generally unaceptable to my custormers. though they generally are very accurate and kill deer very well. soft points for me nosler partitions by choice any calibre, any wieght, any deer.

    I never said the dsc should be mandatory only that we should have a test of some sort and i never said they became good shots just better stalkers as in more informed none of them had a dsc1 or any other form of test. nor did i say they had been on one since the incidents only i had showed them the errors. would you take a test if were free????

    just boxing up some heads to go down to the cla gamefair for measuring. all but 2 shot this spring 2 last summer 2 not shown clients taking for measuring. and the ones i have,nt got the malform was shot year before last an 11 pointer.

    some good points made there but you have to think outside the box im a pro have nothing to do with dsc1 though i have dsc2 accredited witness status. theese points are only made through my experience. Firstly a mentor is the best way but not everybody has that luxury and how good are they?? secondly its all common sense, I have had people arrive with wrong ammo for rifle, guns brand new and not even fired never mind zeroed people who think 55g ammo is less powerful then 100g because they think thats the ammont of powder inside. no idea of notifiable diseases or what to do in event of fi

    Ah finally back to the origional thread. Im not getting involved only to say it was a perfect HIGH HEART shot but not an expected reaction and it WAS shot in the heart END OF.

    Yes mate you can dsc2 or not i wasnt saying it was in his pocket i was saying it could be same as any other reason as i am perfectly sure i would,nt have him walk behind me with his rifle in his arms but i can not tell you where he has put it. But one thing i can be sure off is that it was a high heart shot we will have to agree to disagree mate. heres andy on the following morning i dont think he would have walked all morning without a gun on a sling whilst shooting this lot do you?

    read the post i said we had dropped out of the seat and were at its base but again your determined to prove me wrong anyway i have never before or since seen a deer jump so high with any shot never mind an alledged heart shot. how do you know his sling is,nt in his pocket after fitting his bi-pod or any other number of reasons you were proved wrong by the high shoulder shot and just want to have a go ,judging by your other posts you are an argumentive sort best wishes john, p.s it was a perfect(high heart shot).

    A. he was,nt on a dsc2 stalk im his guide i do the looking b. we had earlier been in a high seat were he used HIS binos hence a very short walk therefore no sling the deer was shot shortly after dropping out of the seat we had basicly finished when i saw him fraying a sapling.     Think were the deers body is if it was stood up that entry will be lower on the body. the last part about scanning makes no sense to me sorry a client funnily shot a buck this morning a perfect heart shot and a perfect reaction.

    I gralloched it mate it was a heart shot even though it didnt kick out its legs this is an edited version off the full legnth you see the deer walk 15 m turn 180 degrees and fall over kicking it could,nt do that with pinned shoulders Dont believe every thing you read i never said its reaction to shot was perfect i will see if on the client photo i can see entry or exit and will publish if i can. regards john.
