  9. I do indeed Bill Lots of pro's and cons here. If your looking at despatiching vermin from POINT BLANK (as in Trapped); then the more powerfull the better and I would say go for a .22 The HW45 is an excellent choice (silver star is a little on the steep side as its a comemorative one I believe). The 45 is a hell of a pistol to get to grips with for target and plinking when used at full power (its a dual power pistol) As Aaron points out the Alecto is great pistol that has 3 power settings and is fantastic for plinking and even informal target shooting such as the ones held by us at
  10. hi busterdog, that takes the piss, y are they retrieving them all, if you dont mind me asking how did you get the slot for a humane dispatch pistol on your ticket?
  11. hi aaron thanks for the reply and the link, very useful, a very nice looking pistol indeed, gonna do a bit of reading up on that to see how much it is, cheers adam
  12. hi lads and lasses, im after some advice on which pistol to buy, it will be for plinking and target shooting down the range, and occasionally dispatching trapped vermin, (mainly rats) i dont really have much experience with pistols to be honest and would like some advice off of the people who know, ive been looking at both the hw45 silverstar and the brocock aimx grand prix, has anyone used either of these before? if so how have you found them and are they worth their heavy price tags? thanks for reading, best regards Adam
  13. No, not quite. To be able to shoot deer you must have deer specifically mentioned on your licence. In the case of a .22CF rifle it will state Muntjac and CWD in particular. hi mate actually in leicester if you have on your ticket FOX AND ANY OTHER LEGAL QUARRY then you CAN shoot muntjac and cwd i know because this is a topic i posted myself on here as thats what it says on my ticket, and after lots of varied answers i contacted the my feo, and this is the same feo as farmershoot has and he told me if my ticket says FOX AND ANY OTHER LEGAL QUARRY then thats what i can shoot, and m

  15. nige and tom (the young lad) from simpsons are top blokes, he has helped me alot, i buy all my guns from him, even if i find somewhere cheaper i tell him and he matches it, and to be honest unless for some reason he couldnt get a particular gun i wanted, id never go anywhere else either, a really nice bloke. i live just outside of thurmaston mate, whereabouts do you live.
  16. hi mate the cz 452 sillhouette is what i have in .17hmr, a brilliant rifle, go for the 16" barrel if you can, also mate you might be interested as i was when i heard this i was on the internet and i came across the spec for puma rifles, these rifles are exactly the same as the cz, infact they even advertise them as having (in there own words) 'cz actions' and they look exactly the same, they also come threaded ready for a mod and ibstock tackel and gun are knocking them out at £250 each, you can have them with either synthetic or wooden stocks, they look a great bargin, infact im headin there
  17. hi, i am also in leicestershire andmy feo didnt want me using either a ,22lr or a .17hmr for fox and told me to apply for a .22cf so thats what i did, strange how 3 people all from leicestershire having 3 different experiences, my feo told me that .17hmr IS a suitable round for fox at the right distance and in experienced hands, but he also said that he would much rather me apply for a .22cf aswell, as this was my first grant and would not be very keen on issuing me with a ,17hmr for fox.
