  3. They're good digging dogs though
  4. I've had these ones for a couple of year now.... Galloways.....they split around the big toe/instep area about a year ago.... Fine for standing on a bank watching coursing or just walking the pooch but if you put serious miles into them they just aren't up to it, which is understandable.

  9. surly a dog that has bitten not once but twice in the house will do it again no matter where its kept..remembering that its bitten the person who has to go in feed it , walk it etc, i know its a hard desicion but it has to be made.. I can forgive an excited Jack Russell but if it was a bull then I agree. Keep it out of the house, work the bugger hard and see how it goes.
  10. Chinese eat them too. I stayed in a very rural place last year and when I asked why their hunting dogs were so skinny, they told me that if they were well fed, the next village would forfeit hunting and just nick their dogs. I have no objection to anyone eating them but as Simmo says, I like them to have a smile on their face as they die

  15. Polish Greyhounds...of a type Supposed to be more of the saluki/asian type bred along true lines separate from the Borzoi/Grey/Saluki
  16. Seen them in their homeland but never known anyone who hunts them. Racing is popular over there though.
  17. Does this apply to those states where cock fighting is legal?
  18. Just given all my gear away Send Cupid Stunt a pm and ask him if his mate still has all the reloading gear...if he has and he doesn't want it anymore then he might do you a price. Worth a try
  19. That's what Plummer used to say....it's not an exact science I'm afraid. More than likely they'd look like bedlington whippets

  21. Hello mate....welcome back on board
  22. My great-uncle Frank with one of my great-grandads dogs in the early 1940's... In the first edition of the Observers Book Dogs, the term "Patterdale" was listed as another name for the Lakeland...same as Reedwater Terrier was another name for the Border. I think the objection for the name Patterdale was due to most of the dogs of that area were Lakeland types and not the smooth blacks. Don't get hung up on names.
  23. Fat is the best source of energy but protein does give you energy too, to a lesser degree. Oil and oily fish both contain energy. This is the breakdown of analysis for sirloin...bear in mind it's trimmed to 0% fat though http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts-C00001-01c21wt.html This is the analysis of brisket http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts-C00001-01c20xJ.html Notice the serving sizes are different so you will have to take the analysis in grammes as a percentage of total serving size.
  24. Uru...sorry mate, that was me. I made it invisible for a little while as I was seeking some opinions regarding some of the replies. I'll let you know the outcome very soon.
