  1. vets are good in alot of ways but if the dog as put its back out then the vet might not be the best person to put it right, if the vet says its out i would take it to someone who specalizes in doing dogs backs it can save you money in the long run and get your dog back to health alot faster. there are alot of places about that do horses and dogs.
  2. well done mate good nights lamping there,
  3. you will and do get good dogs from untested parents, just because a dog is untested it doesnt mean that it isnt bred from top working stock, as not every pup bred from working parents or top bloodlines always ends up in a working home, to be honest its a minefield, what do you do for the best?
  4. where do you draw the line and say a dog is tested? a tested dog in one mans mind might not be tested in another mans mind
  5. i think it was about £100 per person for two nights not sure what the charge for daytime work was. you know the bloke who runs it,why all the questions? i was thinking of trying to arrange a nights lamping there. i must be confusing you with someone else then, coz i thought you knew the chap that runs it personally, ive met him about 3 or 4 times.

  10. has anyone been to the hunters paradise that was advertised in the cmw and possibly on this site last season. i was just wondering if it was as good as it was advertised to be, and what yous thought of it.
  11. take the pup out it wont him. in the field education is important and the only way for your dog to get it is by being out there.
  12. i new somebody who brought a 13month old airedale greyhond i lamped the dog a few times it seemed to have a amaizing nose but wasnt over blessed with bottle or brain perhaps thats why it was sold to the lad i new. thats my experience but its only based on one dog. atb trigger
  13. i usally give my pup 24hours. The vet just advises you not to take the pup out between the first and secound shot just to cover there selves
  14. unfortanatly it doesnt matter what age you start your dog at the risk of a major injury is always there.
  15. good pic. the work wont hurt him its sorts the good dogs from the bad. cheer mate well done malk1. theres nowt wrong with showing the pup what happens and giving them the odd slip now and again at that early age. i started mine at 4 and half month doubled with another pup of the same age and they both went on to be prolific dogs. they retired at 9 and 10. if its got it, its got it! atb starting them young never seems to hurt them. alot of people say you shouldnt do it but ive never had any problems with my dog so far. starting them early benifits them in alot aways i reckon.

  17. f**k me a man had 5 cows trying to do him in and only then you let the dogs go wish i had a mate like you but fair play to you, you bigged up your dogs the dogs are never on a lead to be let go, they are taught not to touch stock which they did until as a last resort they were told other wise. they aint my dogs.
  18. very sorry the man got hurt !! cows and calves in a field at night and dogs ..dont mix the cows instinct is to look after the calves !! bet the farmer is f..kin delighted his cows have been bitten to f..k!! can you see everywhere in every field you have ever been in. you never been in a field and walked over a brow of a hill and there is livestock there when you thought the field was stock free?
  19. flint08s asked me to put this up. ive just got back from the hospital and visiting flint08 after his nights lamping was cut short by a herd of charolais cows and calves, whilst out with the dogs and two other men a herd of cows with calves came running towards them and one drove flint08 to the ground and started stamping on him with the rest of the herd joining in, the two other men with flint08 were powerless to do anything to free him from the herd despite several attempts. after a while some of the herd moved away and left only 5 cows still attacking, one of the men set the malamutes on
  20. my old boy alsaton/collie X whippet/greyhound
  21. why wait untill hes older if hes catching. i would keep taking him out now on his own a couple of nights a week it wont hurt him, its early in the season the rabbits are green and the education will do him good imo.
  22. heres a malamute X greyhound looks heavy but is pretty agile considering i believe he is still a young dog and is being put through its paces.
