it will dry up , i had a little bit of it here last year with my jill who was only feeding 1 kit & i noticed the teats that were a little red were ok a few days later when the kit used other teats, i have just read that reducing food & water intake slightly can help to dry it up as well, but its fairly warm here so i wouldnt risk limiting the water she has Other than looking for a couple of kits for her to foster from a larger litter , is she the only jill you bred

watch her for red hard lumpy patches on the area where she would feed from, as theres nothing taking the milk it she wont be stimulated to produce more like she would be when kits suckle Just keep an eye on her for a day or so then act accordingly

More or less yes they sometimes have white dots on the inside of there back legs & a white dot on top of the head as well

can some some tell me the difference between hobbles and hoblets

i think the hobbles are the Castrated and Hobblets are Vascetomised ? There's a sticky thread at the top of Vasectomised hobs that are available.. perhaps there is one in your area... Thats right i think , or is it the other way round -
i have lots of ferreting friends, they know about breeding silvers though, infact they work rescues instead of keeping lines going after 10 years of good working, they must be doing soemthing right Well with all due respect if you know of any rescue who is willing to re home to a working home the details need to be logged on here

No it isn't. That doesn't mean it's neccessary or desirable though. And if you must breed (rather than merely want to) then I suggest it makes sense to understand the full genetic implications of what you are doing. That comment shows a profound lack of knowledge of basic genetics. Not altogether uncommon in those who choose to breed for colour. and very worrying to say the least, there does seem to be alot of breeding going on here though Well is that against the law ?

Remove any uneaten meat if you feed at night the following morning or if you feed it in the morning remove whats not eaten later that day , they can hatch & be crawling all over the meat in hours :sick:

When the jill i had was pregnant last year , her nest had loads off hair in it , i wouldnt worry as long as she is eating & generally herself

I think a good forever home is more important than if the animals worked or not , i know some will disagree but there you go ,my opinion for what its worth
