  1. Sounds like she is treating you as a baby, hormonal behaviour as already mentioned

  3. yep i agree if there neautered stops colonys building up & ferals are a pain i had them here , never again
  4. never eaten Macdonalds food ever , it looks & smells horrible
  5. I had a near escape with my dog on sunday , i only just managed to hang on to her , talk about pannic i was more worried about the fence she would have smashed to get to it, i have 2 cats here & am on red allert all the time , but its just sad when they get a cat , not a great deal you can do is there if they do manage to grab one
  6. The big problem this time of years is you cant guarantee the jills arnt pregnant & then its to late , i would be wary off buying from anyone who is selling them from anywhere other than there home, you csn see the conditions they live in , you could be buying a whole load off sick ferrets as well & then risk passing on illness to your own stock
  7. Thats lovely , especially the colours well done
  8. good job its my good week , or you may have had both barrells with nobs on i am cool with your reply
  9. Cheers again Kay. I did get them the jill jab this season as when i have the kits, i hate getting rid of them. mutch appreciated ( i think thats how you spell that ha ha) That explains the behaviour then, its fairly normal for them to drag other ferrets round when there hormonal, i had an older jill yrs ago who was very maternal, even the last few years off her life she didnt come into season at all but she was a superb foster mom to any kits who found there way here, she did everything other than feed them, special old gal she was
  10. Awww i bet that was a supprise , but a nice one hope there doing ok & mom as well
  11. Its not clear they have in the post so i assume not
  12. Its normal usually when they have been with a vasectomised hob or jill jabbed, its a phantom prgnancy hormonal behaviour
  13. I think you are missing out another category of ferret owner, Stubby, the serious show owner. Those who take loads of ferrets to loads of shows in the hope of coming back with lots of pots. Then if their ferret wins they claim that their offspring come from some sort of fancy champ and charge fancy prices IMO a lot of the demand for fancy colours is created by the show circuit. Just like Crufts popularises different breeds of dog and leads to breeding for extreme and often unhealthy traits 100% spot on,

    Help!

Well it could equally have been some kind of problem with the jill though , so thats put that debate to bed

    Help!

well i had no idea that a hob determines the survival off the kits to adult hood, how does that work then Ok, well if you breed a litter and they all drop dead, you dont use the same parents again, incase its genetic well the jill only lost the other kits this morning , i hardly think she has come back into season today & been mated read the post , its not the same jill
  19. Thats sad what a horrible way to die

  21. 9 brothers imagine having 9 brothers
  22. and I can understand that we do get quite a few new members that are purely "pet ferret" keepers, but what they must understand in return, is that this is "the hunting life" forum, with a ferret section, there is bound to be things said regarding ferrets that makes them horrified and think were all evil gits, but if this horrifies them that much, maybe they should return to the pet forums, Well said
  23. Alls well here tar , have a look through some of the threads on here theres been loads about courts recently hope your ok as well
