  2. I found keeping lots of entire jills that leaving the hob in with them all year not only kept them healthy , it also lessened the '' phantom'' pregnancys they had & certainly stopped the major quarrells with in the court Kay do you mean a snipped hod or a non snipped hob, i am looking at prob getting 3 Jill's and a hob then have the op done on him would it be OK to leave them together? i suppose would just have to moniter there behaviour. I'm start to build a big court so they will have plenty of room to move round a vasectomised hob, you may be as well to get a proven one f

  4. My greyhound dog has a thinning area on his thigh, i put it down to the amount of time the lazy sod spends sleeping, like when babys get that bald patch in the back of there heads from laying flat

  7. Well the ferrets he has are young , less than a year old
  8. I take everyone at face value . theres good & bad in everyone & i speak as i find, if i take an instant dislike for a person its because theres something not right about them & 99% of the time its for good reason i dislike them. thankfully thats rare
  9. Personally i have found they lick that stuff off & then bite
  10. She looks a little beauty , first ferret i got really attached to was a poley jill around 13 yrs ago, best ferret i ever had , absolute dream to deaL with , she was called Maureen
  11. Well said John , agree 100%
  12. He is only a young ferret so i wouldnt castrate only as a last resort, see how he goes over the next few months or so, the way he is biting you & hanging on is what he would do to a jill, i had several hobs who were very ordinary ferrets when not in season but once the hormones were all over the place they would bite, & hang on , total change in personality Theres lots of people reporting there ferrets are in season right now a little early than the norm but thats the way it is, are there testicles visable or do they drop down & go back up as sometimes can happen early on
  13. my ferrets are as dosile as anything, merely used the mustard once or twice and soon got the message, im not taking away from the fact that handling is the best way to climatise ferrets to yourself, its a case of prevention rather than cure. i agree nose flicking would only make things worse and i've seen people's whos ferrets are scared to get picked up, making it time consuming and annoying when they wanted to get the ferret out, they just darted back down when they saw them. It ends up becoming a vicious circle , the ferrets bite, the handler is reluctent to handle because of the bit
  14. I would seperate the pair before you find a dead ferret, it sounds like its hormonal , hence the general aggression
  15. I am not supprised people end up biters when the animals being subject to nose flicking , etc & having mustard in its mouth , there still young animals & do respond to kindness not brute force
  16. I like the first one best that line of colour across the picture is very nice
  17. scruffing, nose tapping etc will make it worse , there coming into season as well which can change there temprement as well & can turn the most docile hob into a nightmare, Are they rough with each other when there playing ?
