  7. Howdy Make sure that the trap cannot rock from side to side or backwards and forwards in the hole you have excavated by packing it at the sides with a sod of earth from the earth you cut out to find the run also make sure there is no grass in the bottom of the run and clear the run each side with a spoon or run clearing tool. Make sure the kill loops are pushed into the soil slightly so the mole does not feel them as he enters the trap also make sure the triggers are pointing towards the kill loop and not straight down you can achieve this by setting the trap and then bending the triggers for

  11. Depends how soft you need the skin after you have tanned it. If you want it soft like a chamois leather then you need to use allum which you can buy in kits from tinternet alternatively you can pin the skin out on a board and cover in fine sawdust for a day or so but this will leave the skin very stiff like plastic but then you can use oils to soften the skin if you need to but I don't bother when doing rabbit skins as the people who hAve em of me aint that bothered Hope this helps a little All the best 410 phil the mole WWW.MOLEBEGONE.INFO :clapper: :clapper: :clapper: :c

  15. Hi I really like the look of these guns, although I have never shot one but would like to give one a go some time. This is my Falcon FN19 Hawk 8 shot with webley 3x9x40 scope Weihrauch silencer and Harris bipod. I love this gun and it is pinpoint accurate with RWS Superdomes out to about 40 yards. Just need a bigger scope for evening bunny sniping and it'll be sorted. 410 Phil ;)

  21. I have pulled moles out of traps where the tunnels are flowing with water surprisingly they are amazing swimmers. Do you use markers for every trap in an area if you know how many traps are in one area just tie some hazard tape to the trap and then this is below the level of the blades and can be seen in the soil instead of having to peg every trap.I find this works very well in public parks where no one is looking for little bits of hazard tape stuck out of a little square of dirt. Sorry I am waffling any more help you would like just ask and if I can help I will All the best Phil
  22. DO NOT BOIL YOUR TRAPS!!!!! Just roughen up the trigger arms with a bit of emery paper and you don't need to weather your traps as metal does not carry scent. I have used brand new traps and caught in them just as well as old traps. All the best Phil

  25. Hi I have had the same problem quite a few times(being a full time molecatcher ) and if you find the run and clear either side and put the talpex in you can back fill it with soil if you like, it doesn't have to be back filled with the same stuff as the mole is burrowing through just make sure there are no stones in the back fill and also make sure there is room for the pin to flick up,if you can push the trap in to the soil a bit so that the trigger is about 3/4's of an inch from the bottom of the run ypu should nail the little bugger fairly soon. Failing that I can come down and sort it
