Its the age old problem of pheasant wandering like the c**ts they are the only thing predictable about pheasants is that they are unpredictable over my 22 years as a keeper there are danger times for pheasants foxes killing loads is when they are poults jugging in game crops long grass etc so make sure you've found all the breeding vixens in spring on your ground and beyond as it's no good shooting foxes when the cut the corn as most of the damage has already been done to your poults and any wild birds
The second danger period and this one the worst is around the month of October this is w

Just seeing a few pics of borders working doesn't prove a thing iv seen borders look good many years ago but only because they had another border behind it!!!!!
Those who are quibbling about the price of border i would take note of them as they are mainly interested in making good coin rather than the state of borders as real workers IMO
This is a photo outside one of my pens; its a favourite place for my poults to catch the sun in the mornings, a likely place for them to be killed by a B.O.P. All of my pens are now covered in this 'spiderweb' with CD's hanging plus bag tops - everytime you open a new bag of feed tie the pull off top to the webbing. This has stopped my poult deaths by birds of prey. Highly recommend it!
Looks like a peregrine in the background to the left ?? i think you may as well put a net over there for all the work it is instead lol
