    new greyhound

Its far from ideal for a first litter! Well done for taking on an ex racer, I hope she works well for you.
  7. Just watching one of the other vids there, how terribly sad when the Wolf runs to a HUMAN and sits at his feet while the dogs bounce around it.
  8. They look like mature Dogs, if they arent trained enough by the time they reach the age they look, Id give up altogether!! That wasnt training it was a pathetic "game"
  9. When was the last time you saw a person walk up to a wild one in the presence of men and Dogs, put a rope round its neck and its stay there cowering on the ground? Im VERY surprised at what some are calling "hunting" on here. I did NOT see any hunting of any description, I saw baiting, plain and simple, a cowering pathetic sight, a once wild animal, being chased while still subdued (on the rope) the short distance it could manage before a bunch of Dogs and Men surrounded it. What was "sporting" or "hunting" about that? Those Dogs were full coated adults, they would be fully accustome
  10. I think in this instance, there is no "sport" of any description, there is no suggestion of control or conservation, just a cowering pet Wolf being chased by dogs a short distance with its tail between its legs with a long rope attached to it. What on eart could be the point in it? I fail to see it. Whilst I agree with you about wildlife "crimes" I dont think this falls in the same category.
  11. Im pleased you share my opinion of what can only IMO be described as pathetic! A pathetic sight to watch the Wolf (if it is a Wolf) be dragged out and crawl off with a rope trailing it. The dogs are doing what dogs do, are they supposed to hold, or just bring the Wolf to bay? Lurcherlass. I meant what is the point of doing what they were doing, a captive Wolf on a rope with 3 Dogs in persuit on a very very short run, seemed totally pointless and completely unessesary.
  12. Can anyone tell me what the point of this is and what possible purpose it serves? Dawn. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTPvtga-Rgs...feature=related
  13.   and of course I use the Borders to retrieve them. Dawn.
  14. I quite agree with you, shame "some" people dont! Id love to see the day I opened my blinds and looked out to see a red in my Garden, instead of these friggin grey things.
  15. Exactly! AND they are a NON native species!
  16. Hi Wife. I thought it did include Squirrels, and like youreslf, we shoot as many as possible and use the dogs to flush and retrieve. Good link, I enjoyed reading about them,
  17. I cant stand the things and shoot as many as I can, but I think the act covers the hunting of Squirrels too.
  18. I agree the vets is the best bet, may be a urine infection, may be the start of something more serious, has she been spayed? May be related to the accident the other day. Dawn.
  19. I had a terrier that waited at mole hills when they moved, he would grab the mole as it hit the surface, did it loads of times. he killed them though immediately, couldnt imagine what id keep one for, take hundreds to make a pair of trousers!
  20. Good stuff Vlad, keep it coming.
  21. Good read Vladimir, i enjoy reading your posts about the different Hounds.
  22. Looks like an Afghan Hound. All the old ones looked like that, they are supposed to be very "sparsley" feathered on the tail with a ring at the end of it.
  23. I wouldnt worry unless you hear anything. If it was a genuine accident I expect the worst could be they would have you for having a dog out of control and make you keep him on a lead in a public place. Doubt it would come to that though.
  24. Yes they release them, but they MUST have the land owners permission unless it was where they were captured (I believe) Maybe they could get shot themselves for releasing them where they shouldnt??
