  1. Just watched that "world war 1 in colour" the other night , and it was showing our troops firing Enfields over the top of the trenches you could see 4 lads in a line all furiously working their bolts and putting down a hell of a rate of fire , would'nt have wanted to be on the recieving end of that !.
  2. You don't need a licence to own or use a saw for your own use (firewood etc) you only need one if you are useing it proffessionally , so tell em to feck off . I presume you know you can also just buy any size bar you want on it's own ? I have 3 different sized ones i use for different jobs on my Husky 254.
  3. Just out of interest has anybody successfully gained permission to shoot MOD land? or do you just get an automatic NO !!!

  14. Yes he's ok , he is a SGC holder himself , just don,t want to have to start cutting his plasterboard etc just to get at crap thermalite , when the floor is probably a more secure option anyway.
  15. There is no issue with fixing a cabinet to an internal/stud/non load bearing wall! As long as it is fixed securely, and that may mean 5"long coach screws etc etc it will be acceptable. Into thermalite chemical mix bolts are highly effective. Get on with it The issue with the wall is not a legal one it is the fact that i rent the place and would have to remove the plaster board to get at the thermalite blocks as there is a 4" gap between them , but if i can just lie it on its back and bolt to the floor through wooden joists and have no wall fixings im sorted Cheers
  16. Hi i'm just putting in for my first SGC , i have a slight problem with my flat it's rented i live on the 2nd floor (no concrete floor to bolt cabinet to) ,and the walls are made of thermalite blocks 4" behind plasterboard covering , so the walls are not an option. I have checked in the Police Firearm Regulations and as far as i can see i should be able to lie my cabinet on its back and bolt through the wooden ceiling joists to secure it , has anyone done this and had a problem with the inspection ? My only other option is on the concrete floor of a locking cupboard downstairs , but it i

Hi all I'm just looking into my first application for an SGC , what i want to know is do i have to have permission to shoot somewhere declared at application or can i just say i intend to use it for Clays at shooting grounds etc for the time being and not state any one place where it will be used ? I ask this because i have a farm who will give me permisson once i have a shotgun and are of some use, but not until. Thanks
