  1. Even if the gun had been under the limit from what i've read of the story he was going to shoot rats when fishing because they were bothering him. So my guess is he wouldn't have had permission from the landowner so that would also have been illegal he would have then been carrying a gun in a public place without a valid reason. So all in all i think he was very lucky he could have found himself in a lot worse trouble had he actually taken the gun out and used it. If he was ignorant about the power limit then i doubt he would have been familiar with any of the other laws as far as i'm concern
  2. I disagree the s200 is a very good gun and the 10 shot conversion works very well i get 40 shots from mine and it's never let me down. You disagree that a multishot is the way to go but talk about a 200 with a multishot conversion No i disagree that the s200 is not a gun for life and you know thats what i meant your just acting like a prat because i disagreed with you
  3. It will be a very rare occasion if you use 40 shots in a hunting session and if your going for a pcp you need to include charging gear in your budget pumps start at around a hundred quid

  5. I've had my mk11 s200 for years and i wouldn't change it for anything swap the plastic trigger and bolt for a brass one and it's a really nice gun.
  6. As long as your happy thats all that matters. For me i have my air rifle and i have my rimfire and between them they cover all my needs and i can't seen any need for fac air rifles. We all have to do what works for us if we didn't we'd all drive the same car and dress the same and listen to the same music and it would be a very dull world.
  7. Deker has explained the differences and as he's said the calibre thing is a big topic so i will tell you what i use and i must stress this is my personal choice not a reccomendation. I use .22lr for rabbits, .223 for fox, .243 for fox and deer up to roe and 30-06 for larger deer and boar. I've settled on these after 25 years of shooting and i'm too set in my ways to change now. Every shooter should try as much as they can and work out what suits them best.
  8. You need a webley vp1 male to male adapter which converts it to 1/2" unf adapter uttings sell them for £11.95
  9. I went to refill my s200 today and when i got the pump out the glass was broken and the needle that shows the pressure was broken. Can i buy a replacement or do i have to get a new pump. The pump is an older axsor model. Thanks guys
  10. At the risk of being shot or verbally abused could I suggest a similar thread about racism and derogatory comments about immigrants? Having folk openly admit they are racist on here etc does nothing to promote this site and in my view gives yet more ammunition to our opponents. Sorry if this is in the wrong place but feel free to delete it ....just a thought! not looking for a debate or arguement. I can see where your coming from but this topic relates to some specific threads that have appeared recently. If there have been posts on other subjects that you have found offensive i suggest
  11. I agree with deker I don't see the point of pushing air rifles into areas that the rimfire can do much better.
  12. I had a .25 hw80 that i inherited from my grandfather who allways swore by the calibre. I used it for shooting rats and ferals in a barn but found it to be limited for anything else. I found myself going back to the .22 or .177 rifles for the barn as i could go for a wander around the fields after and try for a bunny. With the .25 i couldn't achieve the same shots for the opertunist shooting.
  13. Thats a nice little set up you have if you look after it you'll be rewarded with a reliable combo that will do the job as well as anything.
  14. I would call the rspca and see if they can remove them and relocate them. Until there gone i suggest everyone stays clear of them badgers will attack if there nest is under threat and they are nasty.
  15. I think your right it would be nice if one of the shooting organisations would put it all together in one place i would be happy to pay for a small booklet that i could carry with me when out shooting. That way if anybody questions me i could refer to the book and check the law and my rights. I know stuff has been published before but i would like a concise uo to date guide to all the firearms laws and any relating laws like knife laws etc that i can refer too when needed.
  16. it's a good 'general' guide.. is there a sticky for law? may be worth popping one up, because thats not all of them, and i thought the age was now 18 with the last lot of changes? even the met office dont post a full and concise list... just a thought.. theres many a person searching for the info.(even more with bogus idia's....). airgun mags with even just one pellet in, even if its in the glove box and the guns locked in the boot is classed as a loaded wepon.. etc.(people have and are being prosicuted for that one.) and the traveling bit, theres hidden extra's like i dont think your sp
  17. I agree gunfit is the most important a shotgun is the most physically demanding way of shooting and carrying and swinging a badly fitting gun can lead to injury.
  18. I think there has been some confusion between carrying a gun in a public place and carrying the gun in a vehicle. The basc airgun code of conduct is just a guide. Here is a link to the specific airguns laws http://police.homeoffice.gov.uk/publicatio...pdf?view=Binary As well as the above there is also the vcr act which is law anything else is is a recomendation. I would suggest anybody that has insurance checks there documents though as i had an insurance a few years back i can't remember which one it was now but it required me to keep the gun in a slip at all times between home and
  19. There are a few things to consider when making the choice the first is your budget as there are very few low to medium priced side by side guns though both webley and aya make reasonable priced ones. The second is gun fit i would suggest you visit a good shop and they will help you find what guns fit you the best. And the final thing to think about is what sort of clay shooting will you be doing and what sort of game shooting will you be doing. If it was me i would look for a decent over under game gun that can double up on clays.
  20. Whilst i don't agree with shooting a .22 up into a tree. Without actually seeing the shooter and the land on which he's shooting and the gun and ammo he's using it's not fair to pass comment on it. It is possible he could be taking perfectly safe shots likewise he could be taking dangerous shots. I think this is a case of if your a novice or unsure don't do it but an experienced seasoned shooter can do it safely.
  21. Find a club or somebody that has a hw100 that you can try and see what you think. My guess is if you buy the hw100 you'll regret it and want a rapid i've tried both and they felt very different and if you allready like rapids i don't think you will change your mind.
  22. I agree with the post above look for a decent springer you should be able to get a decent bsa, webley second hand wiehrauch for a decent price and you can get a good quality 3-9x40 from JSR for under 30 quid
  23. There are many things that could be happening here it could be the mounts are not secure enough and being a recoiling rifle they are moving. If the rifle has a silencer fitted check it's fitted correctly. Check the barrel is it locking up properly is there any sign of it being loose. These are just a few thought of the top of my head there are many more things that could be a fault and i'm sure there will be more replies suggesting them. Try a simple test get the gun in a fixed position fire a pellet into a piece of paper and then adjust the cross hairs to line up with the hole then fire anoth
  24. I've got a t3 hunter in .243 and it's a lovely gun to shoot i only bought it because i'm left handed and it's the easiest gun to get left handed as they produce large numbers of left handers and there is no waiting to get one. Every other gun i looked at had to be ordered and would have taken too long to get but after having it for a year i am very impressed and now wouldn't change it.
