Cheers guys, vets again in the morning. I would love to buy shares in that place atm I spoke to the vet today and after doing a 2nd set of blood and urine samples checking for anything beyond the obvious his over view is to change antibiotics. He thinks the ones he originally prescribed just aren't doing enough, so more money tomorrow. Then if these work he is saying the dog needs neutering to prevent it happening again, which I am not totally happy with but if needs must I suppose ? Hence my original question if anyone else's dog has had it and the outcome. Also wondering how this was br

Hi all, my dog is hopefully just coming out the other side of having prostatitis. I have asked people I know and no one knows of any dog that has had it. I am just wondering what the out outcome of it was for other cases, cheers all

Sorry to piss on your fire bud but put my application in just before Christmas, had home visit last week, certificates came through yesterday. 17HMR, .22 and shotgun. Sussex Police. Fingers crossed yours won't be to much longer -
I'm happy enough with the nose on my 2, mark well enough for ferreting with no problem ( Bitch is better than dog though ) and can smell stuff and smash into cover no bother

Good honest dogs that SHOULD give 110% into everything they do. Maybe I'm just lucky that I bred them and got 2 crackers ( IMO ) not all will turn out great, that's nature. Good thread this ?

I would come back with an informed answer and constructive argument to all that's been said about my dogs, but I feel I don't need to. Those that have been out with me know they ' walk the walk ' and myself as a handler know their limitations and always try and play to their strengths. Those people that have commented on my dogs that know nothing about them, haven't seen them in the field, have not measured them, have not weighed them or seen their work ethic first hand I salute you in your fantastic insight into my steeds from looking at 1 picture In all seriousness, if you want more pi

So long as it's got the heart of a lion and the speed to catch a coney then the rest is up to good genetics and breeding Atb, Blackstaff

Brilliant pictures bud -
Tesco's insurance seems to be good. Different policy's for what you want. They do an accident policy which doesn't cover long term illness for around £6.50 a month per dog. If your dog is going to be diagnosed with long term stuff would it be that expensive to source the meds yourself online ? Food for thought

gone, pending the usual

All gone a little off topic but all things considered Insurance is the way to go IMO. Recently had a vet bill for £700 and lucky enough get on with my vets so can pay it monthly. I am today on the hunt for insurance for the dags, NFU, Direct Line and Pet Plan seem to be spoken quite well of. Anyone else got any others worth considering ?

Got this collar a couple of years ago and it's just sat about as have the mk3m stuff. They're selling for £35 on Ebay, looking to swap for either a locator box or collar mk3m. Will obviously put some money towards the deal Here's the same as what I have, paper work, collar and battery http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8ft-ferret-finder-collar-/141086485052?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item20d968ea3c

1St Cross Col/whip Or Bul/whip
blackstaff replied to jonesyhunter's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I can only speak for the dogs I've seen work out in the field. My bull whippets ( Non ped whippet sire ) are what I wanted when I had the breeding in mind. Good all rounders that will take a knock or 2 and carry on regardless. They are never going to be world beaters but will give you 110% every time you go out no matter what you have in mind. I compete in a lot of Athletic events with mine and they doe very well in most aspects. A little taller would of been a bonus, but I never wanted a big dog so it doesn't bother me. I am pleased with how they have turned out although often wonder what a c -
