  8. Cut out two channels underneath collar locator where it has been held in with resin with a hacksaw (dont go too deep)....carefully remove old leather strap, put new leather collar in place and then cover with araldite and leave to set, you can get your new collars from Black Dog Trading. 10. It seems like all the boot manufacturer's are going down the same road by cutting costs, and using inferior materials, i cant understand it myself because it will only backfire on them. SINDASOX

  12. Seen them myself, but wasn't tempted, post on Moochers about the sole coming off them after 2 weeks. SINDASOX
  13. I know exactly how you feel mate, i've tried Altberg, Meindl and more recently Lowa and had quality issues with them all, i might go for something like the Meindl Waldlaufer next and hope i can get a pair to last me a bit longer. The Lundhag Syncro is £340.00........which is ridiculous money for a boot in my opinion, they would have to last me 10 years...lol....before i shelled out that kind of coin. http://www.frjonesan...chainsaw-boots/ http://www.meindl.co.../Woodwalker-GTX SINDASOX
  14. Didn't go last year myself because of the rip off entrance fees, first one i've missed in years, was toying with the idea of going on Sunday but i didn't bother after all, also hate the hold ups coming out of there at the end of the day, then your held up on the M54/M6 and then the drive home. 15. Look mate, When i give £150 + for boots i can assure you that i look after them and treat the leather on a regular basis to try and make them last as long as possible, you can plainly see in the photos above how much wear there is in the leather from just the laces. I've tried a boot from Altberg, a few years back now, a boot called the Gamekeeper....i'ts on here somewhere if you search. SINDASOX
  16. .....Yeh, i was thinking the same myself....i have found these to be a decent boot, but i would like them to last me more than feckin 12 months especially when you take the time to nourish the leather The first two pics are of the most recent pair and is the right boot, the other ones below are the first pair and the photos are of the left boot, but the leather has split in both boots (right & left)....you can also see in the photos how the laces have worn away the leather. 17. This is my 2nd pair now of the Lowa Combat Boot, and i have found them to be a good quality boot, but i have had the same problem now with the two pairs in the same area of the boot where the leather has split open in the tongue area of the boot. The first pair lasted me about 18 months, but the 2nd pair have developed the the exact same problem after only 12 months, these boots have been looked after and treated on a regular basis but it has made no difference at all, It amazes me when i read posts about people saying they have had their boots for 4,5, or even 6 years and they are still g

  24. A few years ago after driving home from the Midland Game Fair on a Sunday evening i got into the house and only bent down to undo my laces on my boots when i felt a sharp twinge on the right side of my back about half way up, it shook me up a bit, but i didn't think much more of it, there was no real bad pain that evening, i then had a few cans and later on went to bed. When i woke on the monday morning the pain was shocking, i could hardly get out of bed the pain was so bad, it took me forever to go down the stairs to get to the loo and i had to crawl back up the stairs on my hands and kn
  25. Are there any advantages in setting my in camera sharpening to off, and then sharpening in DPP, i use a Canon 400D, i'm always keen to pick up new knowledge but some of the advice out there on various aspects of processing your prints is like....
