Try Hull special pigeon or Gamebore clear pigeon 30-32 6's, you,ll stick with them although there not the cheapest

Look at the Baikal, under £500, multi choke, and it'll last you a lifetime if you dont give in to gun snobbery or shiney pretty syndrome

The guy that would not split the complete pigeon set up split it All that's left is the Browning b80 semi auto, multichoke, as said before it looks in decent nick from the bit i've seen of it, he wants £300 for it. Also the 3 gun cabinet is left, he wants £50 for that. If intrested pm me for his contact details, I cannot answer any questions and no photos are available so please dont ask. He is located in the Selby / Goole area and will want to see your ticket before you even get to see the gun. Cheers Adam

A local guy stopped me today to see if i knew anyone who would be intrested in his gear as he is packing in shooting , he wants to sell it as a job lot ideally so dont ask to split, if it dosent sell he may consider splitting later but not at the moment. The package consists of Browning B80 multichoke semi auto, 12 bore, looks in pretty good nick from what i've seen' a rough webly and scott ( I belive ) 410 bolt action 40-50 assorted decoys some shell some full body some rubber and some plastic 5 pinewood hide poles ( ive used these and they're very good quality ) a p

High seats are not really an option as there is nowhere to site them on my permission,(and are they really a practical option for the odd hare?) although there is one sited in a surrounding field (and a shot fox in the hedge bottom) which leads me to believe the surrounding ground is passed for firearms (and bigger calibres than my requirements at that). As i suspected elevation sounds to be the key, so will be shooting from sticks be enough elevation to be deemed acceptible as some parts of the land are not really drivable without a 4x4. Is there any other options other than elevation? (I s

Having gained more permission I'm tempted to apply for my FAC, I have one permission that has a flood bank providing a perfect backstop, the bank is around 15 meters beyond the boundry of my permission but I am led to belive that is not any problem. The other permission is over 100 acres ( set amongst hundreds of acres on which I dont have permission) but is totally flat and open and to be totally honest I dont know how this type of land would be shot over, I realise elevation would help but thats not really practical. There are no public rights of way on the land. The main quarry would be rab

Cheers Watchman, looking at your avatar if it's too strong for you you just feed it to the pigs

I,ve just got a new permission with plenty of hares, having never delt with one before I would like to know how to deal with them properly. Firstly I presume you de-pee them right away like rabbit, but then how do you hang them as I've read a couple of conflicting things, do you hang with the guts still in or do you gut then hang? I presume time span is down to personal taste and tempreture? Hang by back feet? Once its been hung would you soak in salt water like rabbit or is hanging doing the same job? Cheers Adam

Get hold of a copy of Febuarys sporting shooter, theres an article in about this faddy stage many lurchers go through apparently.

About my suggestion for making hide poles with the bottom section of electric fence posts, DONT DO IT IT'S A CRAP IDEA Sorry to anybody who has tried it. The problem is when taking all the plastic off so it will fit up the inside of the pole all the strength goes with it, so all thats left for me to say is sorry for wasting yout time lads. Adam

Is it just me but since the THL site has had its new look makeover it has become painfully, almost impossibly slow, I am a long way from the exchange so have slow broadband anyway but the site was a lot more responsive before the new look. Adam

harrycatcat, feel free mate as i,m not going to the dragons den with this one . Lindsay I really am a technophobe but will have a play with my camera tommorrow and see if i can suss how to do it, anyone else that fancies putting piccies up if they do this conversion feel free, It is really simple though litterally cut the poles to your desired length and stuff the fencepost up the bottom tube of your pole, job done

I've had around 250 carts through mine now and half around half a dozen miss feeds, not brilliant i know but not the end of the world is it. Do I regret buying it? no, it was £300 and ive got £300,s worth, would i buy another? it would depend what was available to me at the time of looking but i'd definatley not discount one. Adam

For all you tight wads (like my self ), take 4 of the £2.99 washing line poles from wilko's or similar and work out what length you want to extend them cut the excess length from the bottom pole then take 4 of the plastic type electric fence posts ( i scrounged broken ones from a livery yard that i have permission on, theres usually a few snapped ones laying around farms etc) and cut them 4 inches up from the foot plate then take an angle grinder and grind the remaining post down untill it can be pushed up into the bottom of the bottom of the washing line pole, when grinding take care to onl

I went out this morning to check my snares as normal only to find two missing, tealers, pegs, the full monty, after a couple of minutes the penny dropped, when I had set them the ground was dry as a bone and as hard as concrete and i'd brayed the pegs in as far as possible, trust me they were solid, however we had a torrential downpour since that has substantialy softened the ground and allowed the rabbits to pull the pegs free, the land is surrounded by stocknetting and i've found one as the tealer string and peg had snagged in the fencing but god knows whats happened to the other, i've been

The wife is a dog groomer and gets a fair share of springers and cockers through the door, mostly pet owners dogs but I was wondering do many of you use groomers or are you DIY'ers.

OTC I'd never had you down as that type -
I tried it the other day and didnt like it very much at all, the trouble is blood gets in your eyes, although the look on the wifes face was a picture when I got in , trouble was when she realised I'd not been attacked by a murderous axe man she pi**ed herself laughing for five minutes Oh yes its a learning curve for sure
