Ive had a Sandwell Field Sports (Tony Wall tuned) .177 HW 95K, and a Logun Evo .177 calibre in the past and they both nail rabbits out to 45 metres if your shooting is up to it. Your right friend, you do get the odd runner that moves 6 or 7 metres but i found it mostly down to hitting the rabbit in the front of its eye towards the nose and not just behind the eye towards the back of the head. I have never had a runner with a .177 or .22 calibre when Ive hit a rabbit to the rear of the head. All rabbits will move alittle and jump due to nerves when hit with any calibre. Regarding pellets

Cheers guys. The little one on top of the deben stinger lamp is a red laser what i use for night time range finding when out lamping. It compliments the green illuminated mil dot Tasco 6-24x50mm scope.

Hi all, I just thought that id put some photos up of my new GunPower Storm with custom bits added on. Ive been trying different setups and combos over the past 2 weeks until ive managed to find what suits me best for my kind of pest control. Can you please put up your guns and combos with any photos of vermin its shot for the rest of us to see. Regards Zini.

Just thought that id post 2 pictures. One is of my new custum Gunpower Storm and the other is the same gun with a couple of bunnies that i took off the bipod about an hour ago at 45 metres with Webley Crosman Accupells. Ive had a Gunpower Stealth in the past and now this Storm. I really rate these guns. They hit hard and they are very accurate if you use good quality pellets like Accupells, Bisley Magnums or Air Arms Field with a good scope. My next buy is a Gunpower SSS when my FAC comes soon. Ive got a mate who is a game keeper, and he has a Gunpower SSS set at 60 foot poun

Ive spent the last 17 and half years in the army mate and I personnally think that depending on what type of hunting you do and where you are stationed as you often get more chances than the average civilian hunter. 2 Years ago i was in the Salisbury area and i had permission on 26 miles worth of Artillery ranges to shoot over. It was packed with rabbit and general vermin. There was also loads of fox and other ground dwelling animals but to be honest i loved my shooting and bushing with my pat more than anything. I have been back in Germany now for 2 years and where i am now there a

I have to admit friend that i dont work him as often to ground as you probably work your Patt. He has killed twice now but while out with me and my boy. Once in a drainage pipe and once in some brambles. He is very aggressive when on to something, what ever it is doesnt live long at all. I take him ratting alot and he loves that. We used to live in a big house in the country in Germany and he often caught in the garden. He has killed squirrels, 2 snakes that he found, rats, nearly got a pine Martain that was trying to kill song birds in the garden that had a very lucky escape. He will basi

Yes i think so too mate. He has sliced his paw at the mo digging out rats. It doesnt justify going to the vets but he is limping abit. Anyone know of anything that will help him heal quicker.

Can someone please give me some information about Mr Wheeler? I have a patterdale Nuttel and Wheeler cross. You hear alot about Mr Nuttel but hardly anything about Mr Wheeler. Maybe some members with wheeler dogs or crosses can put some pics up of their dogs. Here is mine. He is 2 and half now and game as they come.
-
yes i have to aggree with you there mate. I think that he is far to big to work under ground. Im not sure what spewing means can someone explain it please. As i have always stated in the few post that ive been involved in "I dont work him to ground" he does his own thing and he loves to bush. Im not a hard terrier man like most on here like to portray themselves as, i just have a interest in the breed and respect what they are capable of doing. I like to shoot more than anything else and he is brilliant at finding rabbits, foxes, rats etc so he is perfect for me. Not everyones cup of tea i kno

Here are some more up to date pics of my Wheeler / Nuttel cross. We have just moved house into a area where there are lots of cats. I have to watch him like a hawk as he likes to tangle with cats when ever he can. The thing is though he dont chase them and then run off when they stand their ground like a lot of dogs do. He loves the battle i think and the cats never come off best. He is a first class bushing dog and very intelligent. Its true what you guys say though they need to be watched as they have no fear of any thing and can get them selves in trouble from time to time.

Thats a lovely Bull Cross there mate. It looks a strong bugger. I bet its pretty hard on game isnt it?
-
Yes he is Wheeler and a Nuttel cross.
-
I was just wondering if anyone uses English bull's crossed with another terrier, Patt, Border, Bedlinton, Lakey etc for general terrier work? If so has anyone got any photos that they could post as id be interested to see what they look like and hear how they do.
-
Cheers Martin. I have worked hard to get him fit. Plenty of ratting, ball work and a proper diet.
-
Hi i thought that i would put some recent pictures up of my Patterdale now that he has been on his new diet for 3 or 4 weeks. He seems to be really fit now and keener than ever.
-
Can someone in here with a bit of experience please tell me about this man Mr Wheeler. Why is his dogs bred so hard? What are the original mix of dogs to make his breed of patterdale and where is he from. Does he still breed his own strain of dog.
-
Stella he did kill them. Cheers dig deep. He does work but not like yours works. He is more a bushing dog than anything else, he goes through the under growth and if he catches he catches. If i was to move back to the uk i may consider getting into earth work more. Maybe go out with someone with a bit of experience and learn the ropes.
-
This dog has got alot of wheeler in him mate but i dont work him like some of the guys in here do their dogs. He does his own thing really when out . He has killed rats, he has killed a fox in a drainage pipe . But like they say, the breed is hard. Mine is a demon. you have to watch them. They will try it will anything. I am lucky with mine though as i managed to introduce him to other dogs as a pup so he dont cause any bother that way but anything else

I took my 6 year old out today for a afternoon of trouting. Look what he came home with.
