  1. it makes me so grumpy if my dogs arnt back by my side when the lamp goes off.....if any of my dogs mess about lamp goes off and im walking away from them quickly...as soon as they think iv gone and there lost it soon sorts them out..i just wont have them hunting up..... I see what you're saying. Il give it a try although I reckon my dog wont give a flying f**k if I walk off when there are bunnies sat out in the field. Cheers though.
  2. I've just returned from a quick half hour go in the fields with the lamp and the hound, had 6 runs and 2 caught, a couple courses were excellent sport, nice turns, nice cut offs etc. I have a little trouble sometimes with the hound coming straight back once the lamp is off, I know with a bit of persevering with training I could probably get this down but I had an idea. Does anyone know if rabbits can hear a silent dog whistle?, if not then this would be the most simple way to train the 'lamp off' recall. I guess even if the rabbits can hear it they may not be bothered by it. One thing I do kno
  3. I would go for rook as opposed to crow, can't imagine theres much difference but traditionally it was young rook, I haven't got around to trying it yet.
  4. Im sure its Becks Vier, not Stella? I agree either way that its great draught. Otherwise I am partial to Denmarks finest, Carlsberg. Right & wrong there at the same time mate! There is a Becks Veir, but there's also a new Stella Vier. The Veir is just German for '4', meaning 4%. Have you not seen that advert for it on the TV, where that bloke falls off the cliff through the washing lines? Ah, I apologize, I did not know that! I have seen the advert now I think of it, I can remember it being advertised as 'triple filtered' also or something, could be wrong.

  6. Exactly, prime example. Gotta chance it sometimes and it can pay off. Have lowered the price a bit already though!
  7. Just got in from a little sesh in the corn field with the .22. Was out there for 2 hours there abouts. First one hopped out, I waited for it to come clear of the thistles and nailed him. That seemed to be it for the next 2 hours, not a flicker of anymore surfacing. Either way a nice sit out watching the world go by with the hound.
  8. Yeah like I said I've exaggerated the price because you get a lot of people on ebay who get auction fever and pay over the odds, trust me I've sold enough vehicles on there to know what im doing! I'm getting offers already so when/if it doesn't sell il take up the highest offer. You got to be cheecky sometimes and it sometimes pays off. Cheers either way.
  9. I have put up my cherished Hilux for sale. Take a look. I have exaggerated the price a little just to see what interest I get, you never know basically. Ebay rules that you cannot state 'open to offers' but if any of you guys have any then I wont be offended if you post them on here, within reason obviously, no doubt there will be a few jokers! Item number: 180337436920
  10. It should be standard on your internet browser tool bar, formating wouldn't have removed it maybe just not displaying it. Try all your drop down menus, it'l be there somewhere. Failing that install a google tool bar and it will have a spell check option.
  11. It sure does, you know its not gonna get up again where ever you hit it though, I like that reassurance! The thing that does the damage is the Remmy Accutips I put through it, the polymer ballistic tip shatters at the slightest impact. Good stuff!
  12. Each to their f**king own people. I agree with freedom of speech on the forum fully, so say you wouldn't have one and the reasons why but whats the point in slagging them off with second rate insulting language and even more uncalled for, slagging off the people who buy them. Whats this going to achieve but cause arguments and bad feeling.
  13. I got a half x hancocks, he's 4 and a half now. Sired by Billy Clinton and damed by Action. He was my first lurcher and dog full stop so I made a few slip ups in training as I had no one to advise me but playing catch up with certain disciplines has been really easy. He's a great all round dog, great under the lamp, takes charlie, surprisingly good ratter!, steady over ferrets and general obedience is excellent. Like you say, a dog is what you make it. Would be interested in seeing how yours turns out, keep us posted. Take it easy.
  14. Im down horsham way, got these on some permission 5 mins inland of worthing and the old tobys are starting to show a lot more now much to my delight!
  15. Nice picture, they look very well fed from somewhere! Good shooting.
  16. Decided to lay out on a bank 150 or so yards from the bottom of a pine woods, within 15 minutes of waiting charlie came sniffing about out the bottom of the wood, whilst he was preoccupied with smelling something in the short grass I thought I may as well have him, so that was that! Literally 10 or so minutes later another emerges from the same spot of the wood, goes straight to the deceased, sniffs him and doesn't bat an eyelid. Then he decides to walk down the bank, through the fence and start trotting at considerable speed towards me. I could see everything he was doing as I was up high on
  17. Have you seen how much they cost? Just shy of £1500.
  18. Very cheap price for such a good spec example of one of these. Someones going to get a bargin.
  19. They are not legal for use on earths so theres no worry there, only can be used on burries.
  20. when that happens with me I do a half and half mix of 2 different poisons i.e half rodex and half slaymore and for some reason they usually go mad for it after that.
  21. I just want to say that I can vouch for how good these baskets are, been out a couple times with Tyla and they are the business! I was very impressed.
  22. All the farmer is interested in is profit margins, so when there is a solution like the rodenator I can see it from his point of view to be honest. Sport is not in his best interest when his livelyhood is invested in the crops.
  23. Just curious as to why you have chosen not to use poison as it is much less labour intensive and more effective in my eyes?
