    It makes no difference to the law whether it is a fixed or lock knife. If it is over 3" then you have to prove a just reason for having it i.e hunting, shooting etc. I carry a Frosts 4" fixed blade with me all the time I am out with my dog, even if just for an exercise run and even if i'm going on footpaths and roads. Reason being you never know when you might need it too dispatch a deer caught on a fence or injured or free a sheep that's stuck fast in some brambles etc, both of which I have come across more than once.     Definately a ladder trap for the rooks, it will catch 200+ plus at times. bait with corn and lid off for a few days then fasten lid on and watch them pile in. In summer put the trap near a water trough or something as they will flock there to drink and increase the numbers you will catch.

    Could you not weld the action etc solid thus de-activating it so you can still hold onto it as an ornament? Dont take this for gospel though as I do not know the legislation on the topic.

    Good luck with it mate, definately do the college otherwise you've got little or no chance of getting anywhere. The current economical climate is affecting keeper jobs big time at the moment, I am struggling to get a new position and have been keepering for 5 odd years, hopefully the jobs will pick up again in a year or so which would coincide with you completeing a course. Hope it works out bud.

    I had the same problem but some guy sent me this link http://www.resize2mail.com/ its good for resizing and cropping, you can also open the image in paint I think and resize there. Hope this helps.

    Right everyone read this and see the error of all your statements you have just made. In my original posts I stated undesireables and pikeys, never gypsys and travellers, so unless you call yourselves those things which I doubt you do, then the post is not aimed at you. I have never had a problem with gypsys and alike, they are usually peaceful people and have never caused me trouble in the past. By pikeys I mean the people who go around stealing dogs, quadbikes, gamebirds etc, of whom I have had a lot of encounters with. So to sum up, in my eyes gypsys/travellers are different to pikeys/u

    He could mean grayfish, its a kind of dogfish, member of the shark family. Dont know if you can eat them though. Crayfish on the other hand are tasty as you like!

    Cheers for that, I guess wherever I go there will be pikeys, just got to be vigilant always when it comes to dogs. Its a comercial shoot south of high wycombe, don't know yet if they have a gamefarm on site, you may well know it, I wont say any more than that on here though incase someone with bad intentions is reading if you get me! Being a cheeky fecker is sometimes worth it, dont ask dont get do you! Il keep you in mind if a situation comes up like that mate, I wont know anyone else up that way if I get the job! Cheers again.

    Thanks for the info, I dont think I should be more specific about where exactly it is just incase there are insiders on here who would take advantage of the situation.     I want to know what the undesirable (p***y) situation is like in the area with a veiw to them having my dogs away as there does seem to be an increasing epidemic of this kind. Reason I want to know is that I've got a keepering job interview up that way on tuesday and knowing this might help sway my decision if I get offered the job. Any information on the matter greatly appreciated. Thanks pals.
