JPTfellterrier replied to JPTfellterrier's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
ner im not squeemish,i work with reptiles and all sorts of little animals as i work in a pet shop...and can dispatch a rabbit without thinking just the thought of ferrets freeks me out, its not them biting im scared of its just them which just send shivers down my spine when i touch them got some i can borrow off a mate, just want to know the basics -
i was in a similar situation when i got my lurcher, as long as the dog is promised to get a good working, loving and permenant home most people would be more than happy to sell you a dog best of luck
-
well there are loads of rabbits on two of the fields on my permision which as soon as you go near there off down the set....so thought it would be a good place to start ferreting as its a huuuuuge set. can easily get some ferrets, think theres some nets hanging around the house but would need more and have got a lurcher. what else do i need? EXCEPT FOR OVERCOMING MY MAJOUR FEAR OF FERRETS

Seeing as you're on here, you seem to have a basic grasp of forums, so see the thread marked: 'General Talk' Don't click on it if you don't want to read people talking about things in general, not just hunting. Simple really. "General Talk Discuss various topics & subjects." that is what it says under the description of this section.......i like this site as you can have a bit crack on about other things with people who have a common interest......love the pornstar name post.....great laugh

cures for bloat!anyone?
JPTfellterrier replied to JPTfellterrier's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
just to let you know i asked a vet about it yesterday and she said it was low risk of her stomach turning when bloated because of her being so small and because of her being a terrier.........so END OFF!!!!! -
random question but is it possible to get "microchipped" tatooed in the dogs ear out of interest as she is going to be microchipped also, i know they put a registered number put in the ear but it would be good if you could have both tatooed in im just worrying because i would rather never have her back than risk someone cutting her ear off if they did pinch her also wondering she is such a drama queen, you stand on her foot by accident in the slightest and you would think i was murdering her, how do they keep them still when doing it?

evil just pure evil

a friend of myne had heard about dogs being nicked that had tatoos so the theiveing tw*ts cut the dogs ear off, has anyone else heard of this happening?

Lurcher bitch problems?
JPTfellterrier replied to spiritofold's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
i dont know about out on a walk but i watched a program where the dog did the exact same thing, they invited loads of diffrent people to the house and the people who visited had to go straight in the door and not even look at the dog or give it any fuss until they had been in the house long enough for the dog to calm down, they would then give the dog a treat and a quiet stroke and then ignor the dog again i would probably get a clicker and try the same thing in public, when someone comes past and she gets all exicted just make her walk on and say NO then when she starts walking again like -

i thought of bloat as being like the stomach area being big i didnt relise it was actually a medical condition....the reason i decided to leave it til the morning to so if her condition had improved was because she was playing tug of war with the other terrier and so she didnt seem in any discomfort....i relised this after i posted this post im female, and i like hunting, so i must be looking for a boyfriend........okay then -

No, really, you didn't take the advice given, you completely disregarded it and potentially put the life of your animal in danger, you were strongly advised to seek vetinary help, you didn't even ring the vet, you simply decided it would all be ok in the morning, and luckily it seems it was. Whether you are 16 or 60, if you are in the position where you have concern enough to ask here for advice, and that advice is to get the dog to the vet, and you choose not to, then you can't expect any help in the future really can you? On a personal level, am I included in the "wankers and toss
