  1. Have 4 kits for sale, one albino hob,two polecat hobs and one polecat jill. All been handled daily.. ready next week. They are all eating well (complete and raw food) £5 each. I live near Carmarthen,(south west wales) Also have a cinnamon hob and jill(out of separate litters) which I'm open to decent offers on (not really fussed on selling them tbh) Please feel free to message me for any details. Cheers Mark
  2. They are brilliant birds to fly,but a different kettle of fish to a Harris mate! I miss mine like crazy! They're not half as forgiving as a Harris either and nowhere near as hardy. If you want to hunt pheasant DON'T buy a spar, yes they have guts, but like someone else has said ,it's gonna give your hawk a pasting and you could end up having to try and imp a whole tail pretty quickly. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/110102-imprint-spar-missy/ That's an old thread/diary that I did on mine. Good luck with whatever you decide to do,they're great fun but do your homework first mat
  3. Good post. It's not something that you can just do 2 hours every day religiously. What happens if you go out,and after an hour and a half your bird spooks and flies off? I for one couldn't just say " Oh sh*t I can't look for it today i'm out of my two hour window" Most employers will be ok with it once,or even twice but after that they will soon find someone else who doesn't have to go "chasing their hawk around the country" You can have a life and it's not as if your world ends the minute you buy a hawk but you do have to put your priorities in order in a big way!If you can only give
  4. Think he's stopped breeding them

  10. What you need is a BIG F***ING FERRET WHACKING STICK! Only kidding,Im glad they are coming round Zach,I told you they would! Keep up the handling mate,it's becoming obvious they were hardly ever handled before. In a week or two you'll have two completely reformed characters
  11. Hi Just an update the black headed gull image has gone national today showing in the sun, the daily mail, daily express, daily mirror, daily record. Offer still stands to birds of prey. thanks Lee If I buy another spar this year you'll still be welcome to get some shots if you want.
  12. True, they also hardly ever do any real hunting, half of the "falconry experience days" consist of a harris flying round in a circle from person to person and then watching a lanner put in a few stoops to the lure. Working at a centre will give some idea of basic husbandry, but unless they are regularly taking in fresh birds, you won't see much in the way of training. People make the mistake of paying for an experience day rather than an in depth course.
  13. She was a cracking little hawk,it's a shame not many got to see her fly. If the next spar I fly is even half as good as her I'll be happy. God I miss her attitude!!
  14. Your birds are a credit to you Davey. What weight did that female fly at?
