  1. I would suggest no smaller than L:15 x W:8 x H:8 inches with L:18 x W:9 x H:9 being my ideal size. Have never made a bow backed one so can't help there. 9mm marine ply is best with exterior ply ok. Don't touch interior ply. Use 12mm ply for extra strength but it is not necessary. I sometimes use 6mm ply for the base and lids to save on weight. Pin and glue all joints like ditch says. Treat with exterior woodstain. If you want to be a cheapskate then use gloss paint. Car seat belts make good straps or try a luggage tie down strap. Fix the strap using a 6mm bolt with a large
  2. I only use 10z nets but am planning to try some spun nylon ones next season. 4z and 6z nets tangle up too much. Much better to pay a few pence extra for 10z ones.
  3. Is this what you are after? http://www.countryside-video.co.uk/rabbit_control.htm I have the other 2 that Mick did. Both are excellent IMO. http://www.countryside-video.co.uk/rabbit_catching.htm http://www.countryside-video.co.uk/rabbiting.htm
  4. Completely down to your batteries. A brand new 9V battery will measure near to 9.5V and the two batteries in your collar should be 1.55V each giving a total of 3.1V. (7.85 / 9.5) * (2.72 / 3.1) * 15 = 10.87 Hope this makes sense.
  5. They are £1.20 each on http://www.field-sports.co.uk/
  6. There are eight variants of the mark 1 grey box finders. You need to look on the back of the circuit board to find out which one you have. On the dial you will find a sticker that says either nothing, MK2 or MK3. This depends upon the type of potentiometer that the wheel turns. The distance is controlled by the collar. If using a 15ft collar with an 8ft box just double up the distance to give a rough guide.
  7. The transmiter part on the micro collar is smaller and takes a smaller battery.
  8. Best route is via your GP. The NHS do some pretty good ones for free. If you don't like what you get you can always go private later. Might as well try the free stuff first. SHOULD HAVE SHOUTED YOU DEAF
  9. A mark 1 box regardless of whether it is ferret or terrier will pick up all variants of mark 1 collars (standard, micro, ferret, terrier). It will also pick up a mark 3 collar to around 10 feet.
  10. Completely agree the price varies enormously for no apparent reason. I would say £65 to £85 is reasonable.
  11. You charge £12 for 1Kg of low quality yellow (more lemon) cord on your web site so is that also a rip off? What price do you think 500g should be then? Please note other stuff on gypo joe's web site is fine and his prices tend to be keen. Just my opinion that his yellow cord is crap. Lemon my baws can you please explain what is as you say low quality and if you paid £8 for 500g (£16 a kilo ) how the feck can £12 be a rip off ive sold approx 75 kilos of this braid with only 1 complaint about the colour I wasn't complaining about the colour, just pointing out that IMO it
  12. I start with 13 on the ring and step out to 18 wide. I would not recommend anything less than 15 wide as you will lose far to many rabbits.
  13. Try gypo joe's web site. He sells everything you need and provides a fast service.

  15. This is good, my father pick up how to make a net from it so must be close to idiot proof.
  16. Just ordered 500g 0f 3mm red cord from Bridport Nets for £8. Will let you know the quality when I get it. RopeSeller on EBay is doing a 2Kg spool for £19.99 + £8.00 postage.
  17. How did they measure how much he had used if the meter was blown up? Guess they just billed him for all their leaks as well.

    Ebay...

I bet its in a hunting category, these often seem to take around 12 hours to appear whereas other areas appear in minutes.
  19. Does any one know where I can buy good quality 3mm cord from that is suitable for rabbit purse nets? Ideally I want both red and yellow.
  20. Sorry about your loss. Personally I think vets are a waste of money for ferrets unless it is for a jill jab or to give a hob the snip. They have never saved one of my ferrets when it has been ill and I am not talking just one or two.
  21. It seems to depend on the shape of the ferret whether the new collars fall off or not. If the ferret has a cone shaped head you have no chance with them, all you can do is as mentioned above and change the strap. The person to speak to at Deben is Dave Owen who is the design engineer for the Mark 3 stuff. He does listen and take note.

    My pc

The method will depend a bit on the operating system. To get rid of the thing on Windows XP. Bring up the control panel (Start \ Settings \ Control Panel) Choose the 'Add or Remove Programs' option. Select the skyp program for removal.
  23. Should bring stoning back for people like that. Suspended sentences are a joke.
  24. Who cares which Saint's day it is? Any excuse will do for a drink.
  25. Cute. I adore the plaits, much better than a pony tail. Her pictures have certainly brighten up my day. I bet she has brains as well as beauty, the pictures prove she knows there is no need to show flesh to turn heads. Definitely not your average teenager. Don't expect she is into short, overweight, bald headed blokes that are over double her age. Guess I will just have to dream.
