  5. Hi all, Here in Plymouth, Devon, I had a SGC renewal and an FAC application. I received a letter saying the FO would be in touch and not to send any forms off. He came visiting, filled him with tea and biscuits, checked my forms to make sure nothing was missing and inspected my cabinet. Within a month I had a nice thick envelope containing SGC and FAC. I suggest that it is easier for the officer to check that you have everything in place (including cabinet and safe) before the application is sent off. The FO was great and was in the process of applying for his SGC and FAC at the time so was

  7. Mark, Great to hear you have taken the plunge and joined the asylum!! My wife is from Corsham and my sis in law lives In Livingston Road at Oldfield Park, so I know the area fairly well. The show ay Bowood House is pretty good for a family day out. I hope you get out of this forum as much as I have. Keith (now in Devon)
  8. I agree with Knocker 76 All the Best Keith Apologies for the strike-through!!
  9. I am looking for a 'pocket' lamp that fits easily and am interested in the clu-brite. Has anyone had any experience with them, and are they worth the £50 ish. Look forward to your replies Keith
  10. What a pain, i have only just seen this show and it would have been a nice trip across from PLymouth. Hope you had a great day Keith
  11. Hi Brett, Well done. I dont have an U/O but i do have a nice tidy AYA Yeoman S/S. DTNE and it has just had new firing pins (costing £40). looking for around £100 but am negotiable, i am near Plymouth so not too far away. This gun got great reviews in CMW a few weeks ago (theirs was £320) let me know if you are interested and we could meet somewhere convenient. regards Keith
  12. I have 5 hens, Home made house and run (costing no more than £50 in total) and they cost me around £17 per 6 - 8 weeks to feed (layers pellets and mixed corn which is optional). They lay minimum 4 eggs per day (one has now become broody so is sitting on 6 fertilised eggs), and I sell the eggs for £1 per 1/2 dozen. This is enough for supplying friends and for giving us the eggs we need. Money making aside, there is nothing like going into your hen house and picking up your fresh eggs for your late breakfast!! Secondly, they are facinating creatures giving good therapy to de-stress after a cra
  13. I have a pair of speckledy marans. very docile, reasonable layers (not as good as my white leghorns), good brood hens. One of mine is sitting on 6 eggs at the moment. Easliy handled if you have children. Eggs are of a good size, brown with some mahogany specks. I can well recommend them, but the top layers are the white leghorns although they are very flighty. hope this helps Keith
  14. Apologies for this as i am trying to do it from memory at work!! Having a clear out to make room for new gun. AYA Yeoman side by side, double trigger. Good condition for age, ideal starter or rough shooting gun. There was a nice article in CMW a couple of weeks ago, extolling the virtues of this make and model. I will add some photographs tonight when i get home, but i am looking for £120, face to face, certificate holders only. I also have a couple of old, but tidy single barrel guns (410 and a bolt action 12g), details will be added tonight with prices (once i have looked into them!!)

Tia.kins, nice pics, looked at your slide show - great. i am in a similar position to you, 3 years old ghd/dhd x wpt/bed who is struggling to cope with a 12 week old demon who will not give him a minute's peace. Living in Plymouth and assume you are not too far away (Dartmoor mentioned). Picture taken a couple of weeks ago Good luck Regards Keith
