you will see more stoats about if the rabbit numbers become low due to mixy cause they have to travel a bit more , we saw 2 while ferreting last weekend
i like to wait for decent nites but they dont come often an if its in your head to go just go , i have noticed where i am you see a lot less on moon lite still nites but ive always got a run , i do prefer the windy nites now adays

grind the clip to a flat edge or melt them off , drill a tiny hole in to filter tie a piece of short string to filter and just pull filter of lamp when ready , tie to bottom of lamp an you wont lose filter either
intresting topic squatters are spotted by there eyes normally or when you see them go down, what i do then is keep the lamp on and walk towards the squatter i have noticed if you are head on to the rabb it will try to jump at last second, it all comes down to dog an rab , my old dog would rather them start running 1st where as my other will take them in seat
