Hi Folks we are searching for ground to start a new syndicate with the family there are 3 of us we have a syndicate at the moment but there are away to start building houses near by which is going to bring too much disturbance we are looking for a nice rough patch area with small woods or plantations we would be looking to put a number of birds down and we are willing too pay cash for rental of the ground your help would be greatly appreciated we are also willing to travel we are in the dundee area of scotland.

What do you mean Sunday you are not allowed to shoot wildfowl on a Sunday. i was out sunday a couple of grey lag in the bag but the ducks seem too have done the off but the pinks are on there way back from dwn south

Went out to tentsmuir last night for a goose flight seen hundreds of geese just could not get underneath them you know those days they are all around you left right you move they come over where you were just a nightmare.There were some really low geese going about greylags and pinks they were roosting in the bay behind the lucky scalp intowards tayport. should have waited until this evening as the tide is perfect and really really cold low tide at 4.30pm.

Will fill in the gory details soon, but in short loads of duck, but lots of sods law and poor shooting by me. I got two goldeneye, a drake on the eden and a hen on the Tay, my mate got one wigeon, but we missed many more. They were like rockets in a 35mph wind! Just ate the Hen goldeneye, seared and braised with a haw and orange gravy, yum I'll post more when I get a moment which wont be too soon! Thats great look forward to reading all about it did you see much in the way of geese on your travels?

To goose man 243 hows kingoodie bay doing anymore geese yet? is there many greylag geese roosting in the bay now? and is there many pinks on the tay yet?

Try to make your dog comfortable - if you sit on your game bag make sure your dog has a dry seat. why the heck did this ever come into the basc rules ?

Those Pinks look nothing like brent geese..

Haydels snow goose call is very efficient i was decoying last year and brought atleast 1000 pinks into land into my pattern and after i had shot some i called them back in a second time so i find it one of the best around.

Yeah the mussell beds are very safe as long as you know the tides make sure that the tides are out going but dont worry about that as its very safe there its at its best when its just a river when the tide comes in the river just floods and gets bigger and wider and further range too shoot.

Yeah thats what we have to watch for you are only permitted so many geese on a flight per person.

Yeah do that stick on that point for the evening flight its great on a wind all the best there.As for where to go when the tides at its lowest head almost straight out from the point a little bit right there is mussle banks lie up on there the wigeon love this area theres alot of feeding for them just over the river.

i have shot the Eden on a number of occasions and it is fantastic i havent had too many geese there but the duck shooting is amazing but on a low tide when you can get down to the river they flight the river constantly up and down alot of wigeon and teal watch out for the non target species there are heaps of them especially mergansers also watch out for brent and barnacles they also are around.As for geese the pinks are on the other side of the eden at the moment on tentsmuir thats across the RAF leuchars base.The greylags always head for the papermill bay as this is a no shooting zone watch

Hi Gooseman 243 I shoot there very regular and its been really quiet at invergowrie there is there many greylags in that bay now? the frost brings them in the bay alot from all the local resovoirs.Which bit do you actually go to? i shoot round by the gorse bushes invergowrie.That was a good morning for you though well done.

Hi fowlers im going to be heading up the tay tomorrow for a shot has anyone noticed alot of geese in on the tay yet? and where would they recommend to go?

Yes geese really like potatoe fields shot them on them often you will notice with geese they usually mop up all the stubble fields first then they will go on to winter wheat/barley and tatties but they get alot of hassle from farmers on the wheat/barley fields as they will do alot of damage in big numbers.Its good to watch geese on stubbles to see how fast they are moving if they are not moving fast there will be alot of feeding in that field thats one thing to keep your eye on if you are planning a decoying morning as they might have cleaned the field up and moved on.
