Actually, I think you are totally wrong. Not meaning to be offensive, but, the type of gun is secondary if it doesn't come to the shoulder as it should, well, it doesn't matter what gun type you are shooting IE, what the hell the type of gun you shoot, if it ain't pointin' in the right direction, Yeah?

Applying For A SGC With Northumbria police.
cyclonebri1 replied to snipper's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Thank you, where would you suggest is a suitable place to but a cabinet? I was going to make one but if I do I could possibly make it and it not be as the standard, then it would delay my application!! How much am is it likely going to cost for one? Also do I need a secure "safe like" device for the ammo? could a digital safe be actually used for this purpose?? Thanks for the help When I recently took out my FAC I had fitted a strong but cheap safe of ebay, £15, However the FEO said he would be happy with an Ex MOD ammo box from the army surplus place, £5, provided it was drill -
Ruger 77/22 barrel removal
cyclonebri1 replied to cyclonebri1's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Hi mate, can you just help a little here by defining the diffrence between a floating barrel and bedding? Just seems to be 2 separate views on accuracy, not trying to be smart, just don't quite understand yeah PS, have taken the barrel out just now, piece of p***s -
Is it only me that things that gun fit is more important than gun?? This is not a critisism of anyone but just the single fact that I learnt as a shotgunner??

Picked up the gun yesterday, it's the laminated stock/matt gloss grey stainless model, 24" barrel, what a beaut So much nicer than the brushed stainless version Just checked the manual and it does detail barrel removal, but the guy that is doing it says iy won't be neccessary in order to thread it Thanks guys -
Ruger 77/22 barrel removal
cyclonebri1 replied to cyclonebri1's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Yeah, it is the 77/22, but already tried the site and infact still have the paper manual from one I owned 10 years ago. Doesn't detail barrel removal. It's a new gun so will get gunny to take it out while I'm watching Cheers, -
Couple of opinions although I no longer use the shotgun. As mentioned above there is an inherrant snobery at some clay shootsfrom the gu8ys with the £6k Berretta or Miruku, but that is soon wiped from there faces by anyone shooting anything effectively And also I've seen these guys turn up with all the expensive kit, miss the first half doz shots then sit for the next hour fiddling about with the gun in the back of the 4x4 only to skulk of when they thought no one would notice I started with a baikal o/e, used it for rough shooting and once a month for clays. I only swapped when

Ok guys, i stand to be shot down, but this is what I did;. Got the .22 Ruger 77/22 VBZ. Had the all weather Ruger last time and was well impressed, so bought the .17 Savage HMR with thumbhole stock/stainless shit Happy bunny destroyer mehinks. Not shot either yet, prop be a couple of weeks, but, heh, pretty happy so far? Tackle/gun tart?

.223 is of no use on zombies, needs to be .666

Without riding the post, I am looking for a .17 rimfire. I was in the local gunshop this week, he said he had a fresh batch of CZ stuff coming in that day. Pretty much made a choice but the wood was very plain for walnut. I think the guy realised I was a bit of a gun tart, cos he said do you fancy a real flash jobby? He had had a misdelivery of a Savage Mk11 .17hmr, laminated thumbhole stock, all stainless and threaded. What a beautifull weapon, but at £490, probably about £150 more than I wanted to pay, and not a choice I was familiar with. I was undecided so left it, but when searching t

If your dissability has no effect on any safety issues it will not be a problem...but each case will be looked at individually...I know a guy who powers about on his quadbike with his dog chasing him and blasting away with his shotgun at the same time, and he only has 1 arm!!! Thanks guys, nice and reassuring, couldn't see how it mattered. Think I had the 3 year probationary thing last time, followed by 5 year open ticket. Female FAO this time, must polish up mi charm skills Just to put this one to bed as it may just help anyone in similar circumstances; Derbyshire pol

Talking to the FEO on the phone this morning and they can find no record of me ever having had a SC or a FAC Hmmm, inspite of 10 years with no hassle. But then again I never saw the FEO after my 1st application inspite of moving house etc, Strange We'll see what happens when I meet him as I intend to push for an open ticket based on my previous record. hopefully

On my last .22 rimfire I ended up with a Tasco,(proper one) 6-24 x 40 scope. It was the one with what I think is known as target turrets. IE you set the verical zero and then fitted an externally marked sleeve with gradations that corresponded to certain ammunution. You actually got a set of these for popular calibres and a blank one to be engraved at various ranges to suit your use. So effectively you focused on the target, noted the rangefinder scale and set the turret to that range. I grew really used to that system, never having to bother about holdover distance estimation etc. Th

Mine was in the loft (and still is) from last time round so can't see any issues as although it isn't BS marked as the BS standard didn't exist then, but it was police approved at the firearms dealer that sold the type. There was no definate requirement to have a separate ammo safe back then, (about 1990 I think), is it definate that you now need one? I have actually fitted one as again I had an old none BS one lying around, but the guidelines I have been sent by Derbyshire Force say yes where the Firearms guidance notes seem to only recommend one. Anyway I'm giving them no negatives

Yes, no hesitation at all Shot it in .22lr and .17HMR, both very accurate. Yeah, that was the combination I was thinking about, just got that niggling thought that whatever barrel I went out with, it would be the wrong one, you know? Assuming target turrets or carefull notes how much re-zeroing do you fing neccesary when going back from 1 caliber to the other? And sorry John for riding your original question

I am probably in about the same position, cheque cashed but only 2 weeks since all paperwork sent off. You will receive a letter or tel call to arrange a mutually convenient time for the FEO or whatever he or she is called, to visit you to check you out/view security etc. They will not just send you the certs without going through the procedure, even tho it does vary largely from one area to another Editede to add; Hope I can shoot faster than I can type

Would you buy the same gun again?, only as as am considering the same

havent got a semi auto but if i did it would be the cz511 is more then likely the one thats going to be the best out the box rifle. but to be honest why not just get yourself a new rifle and stick to bolt action there more reliable and accurate I agree, semi auto's are great fun, but if you are serious the BA will serve better. For me my cheap bruno was just as accurate as my ruger 77/22, but I like nice tools
