    Hi Kevinfrombristol As it happens when i came out of the army my wife had just died my daughter was 15mths old i applied to join the police, passed the entrance exam and was accepted by 2 forces but my old man and my brother said if i joined the old bill they would never trust me 100% again,and in my book family come first i needed something secure so became a screw.     Tut tut tut You might wanna edit that post for the legal bullet weights, last time i looked 100 grain were legal on reds, not 75grains 75 grain BT's must blow a munty to bits anyway If i had to choose a rifle out of the two it would be the .243, .270 is not a round i've ever enjoyed using.     Hi: You may have a non-scope related problem. I can't tell without knowing a bit more about your setup. Firstly what rifle, how old, what ammo, new or 'very' used? The 22.250 is a hot round and can burn out a barrel in 2,000 rounds, and a typical 'shot out' example may well group up nicely with 2>4 shots, then go right off the paper when it gets hot, does this sound familiar? Anyway as a general comment, Nikko Stirling scopes are only OK, not rubbish but not that good for a centrefire rifle either.     Hi FASTRAC I have brought loads of scopes, knives, ammo and loads of other shooting kit back from the states with no problems at all get rid of all packaging and say it is second hand worth not a lot. 2yrs ago i even brought a model 7 remington .243 which was 2nd hand value under £147 and didn't pay any tax on that either so just go for it Cheers mate
