Hello Ladies and Gents Anybody got a fool proof method for prefect yorkies? My cooking is all a bit hit and miss when it comes to making them. Sometimes they are perfect and other times they come out flatter than a fox on the M25. Any help would be wonderful. TP

Some people like and can afford to shoot. For eg gamekeepers and the like its part of their job to control vermin with traps and gun. Guns are quick and leaves time for his other duties. The upper classes can pay for thier days sport eg stand in a line and shoot game flushed by the peasants lol. I think those of us that use dog and ferret are just adearing to are primal hunting instincts. Ancient man used dogs to hunt and ferrets. You cant beat the silent approach and steath. Its the poacher in all of us. Happy mooching

Have you phoned and complained. They will know which patrol car was in that area at the time. You probably wont get no joy but you neeed to report it as you could of been injured. Any witnesses at the time? Yeah dads gonna ring them up later. It was on a main road but we'll give it a try. I reckon he was off duty because his lights werent flashing and he was on his own. Usually go round in pairs. It goes to show how they abuse their authority, the whole 'im in a police car i dont have to give way f**k you all' attitude. Should of made a meal of it fella. Sure you aint hurt???? -

I think like the others say. You have a valid reason for carrying it you wont have no problem. EG If you are using it for sporting uses or work related. I think its three inches folding. No switch or gravity blades though, You might get in trouble lol

Heard and seen a couple of Feral cats being shot on Grouse Moors/Deer Forests around the 20lb mark. Believe me that is a fair lump of a cat. Not starting the stone throwing but about 13/14 years ago, A summers evening (Still Light) as i was heading home from a mates house on my 50cc motor bike, A black panther type cat about the same hight as a tall Labrador but a good bit longer jumped a stock fence and crossed the road no further than 20 yards in front of me, Cleared the opposite fence and took off like lightning through a grass field to a wood, Where i 13/14 years on have permision to s

i like to think so. I will be looking about very soon -
Its best to get to know your local keepers and start by getting some beating in and generally showing some genuine interest. Once you get to know him offer to help him out during the rearing season. In the evenings and weekends. And get a taste of what its all about. A lot of people think its just walking around with a gun all day but they couldnt be further from the truth. Its bloody hard work seven days a week. more a way of life than just a job. I enjoyed my days as a keeper back in the eighties in north Essex. At that time i went to hampshire colledge of agriculture. But there was no offic

Its always easy to give up on a species when you are struggling. But keep at it and you will soon start being succsessful. I remmember when i first started barbel fishing years ago. It took me a couple of seasons before i had a decent one. I would sugest trying bait fishing for them. naturals like roach are good and sea deads. My favourite early winter bait is smelts. And you can buy these from most tackle shops in frozen packs. Try static ledgering in likely spots and look for signs of prey fish. Old esox wont be far away.

Hope you gave them a good clouting

Sorry fellas I did not realise you were having the same trouble we are getting. The last time i came over your way i had the best week on gods earth. And the black stuff wasnt half bad. Its a shame that we all have to suffer this s**t

Hello mate. A standard float set up will be fine if theres not to much pace to the river, But if theres a lot of fload water about at the moment and if its running well you will be doing nothing but casting. I would recomend if theres a lot of colour to the river and pace use a float paternoster rig, This will present the bait staticly and give the pike a chance to find the bait. From my experience pike in coloured water feed by smell more than sight. Try any areas of slack water where they might be lying up wating for prey to EG on bends where eddys are created. They are unlikely to be in the

smashing pike pal i couldn think of the word spawn thats why i said birth Thanks for the pm scent. I see you are in the emerald isle, No shortage of esox there. I was going to say you cant beat a float fished livebait, But they are banned in your neck of the woods lol. Deadbaiting with seabaits eg mackeral and herring is always worth a try. Smelts are a good early winter bait if you can get them, They smell like cuecumbers but their a killer bait, eel sections and course deads to. Failing that spinning and even flies are worth a try. But always use a wire trace.

I am sure you are having a laugh scent. Pike spawn around late febuary early march so that the pikelets are developed enough to feed on other fry that hatch later. Until then they feed on smalll pond life and eachother.Best time to catch a big hen fish is prior to spawning in late winter when shes full of roe. Sometimes they can put on a third of their normal weight. They dont give birth cmon
