Yeah he sticks the first ferret down with string and I was asking if it ever got strangled, caught up or if the string got wrapped around a root or something and couldnt get free, he just shrugged and said it has teeth dont it, and just to clear it up, he aint my mate, I was talking to him because I heard he done a bit of ferreting is all.

Maybe its constipated, I think my dog had the same problem once, and I think it was blocked anal glands but that could of been a different time, best thing to do is take it to the vet to get it checked out if it carries on.

Should of got a few of you together like other people on the street and confronted him, cos surely you wern't the only person that thought that.

I was speaking to some guy at college about ferreting and he sais he does a bit, we where talking about tracking them if it stays down the warren and he was saying he doesn't have trackers on the ferrets he just ties string to them and if he stays down he gives it a bit of tug and it comes back, now I think this is bollocks and I said that to him but I just want to double check if anyone knows of anyone else that does this. Hi I am Joe, I am 17 in November, I live in Watford and I don't do any sort of field sport yet. I am going to start soon hopefully, I go to many of the county shows and stuff. I have 3 dogs, a mixed terrior, a jack russel X corgi and a springer. I do Nation Certificate in Animal Care level 2 and hope to be either a vet or a gamekeeper when I am older.
-
I am from Watford by the way, so any one keen to show me the ropes please do. I can't drive yet, so pick up would be great and of course petrol money will be given.

To be fair I like Ray Mears more than Bear Grylls, I like Ray Mears because he actually goes out and shows you exactly what to do and how, Grylls on the other hand just is there to eat dirty things and do stuff that isn't really surviival, just boy scouts stuff. Still got to admire Grylls, I wouldn't want to sleep in a camel.

I am 16/17 next month, and I want to be either a vet or a gamekeeper, if there are anyone here that is a vet or works in that type of industry, could any of you give me tips, or advise on what to do next. At the moment I am doing the National Certificate in Animal Care level 2 and will hopefully be doing level 3 next year and then National Diploma in Animal Care. What do any of you lot think. Cheers for that, and if it's still on Stubby, looking forward to seeing it.

I know you probably hear this all the time, but as I have never done longnetting before, how does longnetting work exactly? Sorry about the question I just want to know, Cheers for any response, Joe.

I do National Certificate in Animal Care level 2, will this help in becoming a gamekeeper. I would love to become one but don't know the right road to go down. They made me miss level 1 because I had to good a grades apparantly. I might do level 3 then maybe even a degree in animal care, will any of this help or not.

Cheers for the advise.

I am nearly 17 and I have loved hawks all my life, When i leave my parents place when I am like 18/19 I am hopefully looking at getting a bird. One problem is, I have only seen them fly and catch prey in the wild, I have held a lot of BOP before, just not for hunting. Is there any tips, hints, advise you could give me.

I have tried with my mates, but nearly all of them don't understand it and think it's cruel etc, etc. And other mates of mine can't get ferrets due to parents.
