    Sometimes we take 1 sometimes 4 and on rare occasions more! It all depends on where we are going and what we are doing. In this case we would normally take 2 or 3 because some warrens stradle the fences so we have a dogs either side of the fence but as we were only out for a bit of fun we took 2 old timers and 2 pups. If we were called in there to rid the place of rabbits we would have took 1 dog for marking and purse nets and long nets.

    We are lucky, most of the permission is similar to this. In the first 2 pics, as far as you can see and either side of the valley is some of my permission. I think i have too much to cope with but this keeps good numbers on the ground, we will never run out anyway, plenty of work for the pups.

    Nothing better than a good day ferreting, this is my favorite piece of permission. It has been covered in gorse for a while now making ferreting a bit difficult but the farmer topped it the other week so we decided to take full advantage and get a few of the pups out.

    We always leave them loose on the warren but we dont always take 4 with us. Niela the bull x does get a bit bolshy and try to take the rabbit but if i tell her 'leave it' she does usually do as she is told. So there are sometimes possession issues which are usually sorted with a stern word, i think it helps that they have been working like this together from day 1, any new additions just slot right in with the way we work. If a stern word doesnt sort it then you get a full speed retrieve in an effort to protect 'their' catch from neila the crazed bull x lol! Gyp is the expert ferreter and is

    Out for a couple of hours today with 2 of the ferrets. We wanted to try a couple of the pups out so we took Niela (bull x) and Gypsy (beddy whippet) to show Mick (whippet) and princess (saluki whippet greyhound) the ropes of ferreting. We let Gypsy tell us where the rabbits were (she is never wrong with a mark)and put a ferret in. Sure enough 1 after another out they came! It was hard work for the dogs because we were on the side of a very steep mountain, as you can see in the pics, but they managed to bag 6 and were very close on a couple more.Took the camera and managed to get a few decent

    Lol, no problem blackpack how did the bitch get on with it in the end?. I needed a break from the computer, was starting to get square eyes lol! Had alot of crap going on and just didn't need it on here aswell.
