  1. Been to the river today with hubby and princess, got some nice photos so thought I'd podt to see what you think to her now she is older... She is saluki whippet greyhound x whippet greyhound and she is 18 months old now, some of you may remember when we first bought her (15 months ago) she was called Bryn. I changed it to princess partly because compared to our other lurchers that are all bull crosses she is most definately a princess! lol and partly so i can giggle at hubby calling her back to him! She is on rest at the minute because she hurt her toe but I'm sure it wont be long be

I say this every year but this is most definately my favorite show of the year, a real freindly atmosphere, great bar (decent prices not like other shows where you need a mortgage for a pint!), good mix of working dogs, lovely place to camp the list goes on and on and this year the weather made it even more enjoyable. I am really pleased to see this show gro

  9. i thought a long dog was sighthound x sighthound and lurcher was sighthound x working/sporting breed? anyway, agree with the above start with general obidience and from then it depends on what you want your lurcher to do.
  10. might be a bit late now but scrambled egg in a syringe is the best way, i reared a nest of wheatear chicks the dogs dug up on it.

  14. bought this fur on sunday for a quid, its one of those olden day scarf things, saw a photo once of my great grandma wearing one so thats why i bought it i just dont know what animal it is.
  15. Does anybody know a good greyhound man that can have a look at one of our dogs or someone local with a mag box that we can use. I deal with most injuries myself but this one is beyond me. We are in the Aberystwyth area. Its not 'urgent' just a reoccuring muscle/tendon injury that i would like someone with experience in this type of injury to have a look at. Thanks
  16. there was a bit of an early slip on this one but she gets ahead
  17. Waited a long time to get this bitch. The dam was young when we first saw her racing and got talking to her owner. The following year we met again at the same show and there was talk about lining the bitch so we exchanged phone numbers and said we would be interested in a puppy. Anyway the lining never happened and we lost touch. Then, last year, i dragged my hubby to Monmouth show, he really didnt want to go lol! We got there and who should be there but cat, the lady who owned the bitch we saw 3 years ago! We got chatting and she took us to her van, opened it up and there they were, 3 puppies

  20. think that was the problem, the judge was on the finish line but the people who didnt know who the judge was didn't know where the finish line was. Need a spray can to spray a line about 15ft from where the lure finishes. Not just to make it easier to see on the camera but also for people watching. It needs to be a distance from where the lure finishes so that the dogs are still racing and not slowing down over the line.
  21. Well, had a real good time and met up with a few old freinds aswell as a few new ones. Scent was nice to meet you and cheers for the ciggie(s)! One shot, i hope your sunburnt head is ok now, i got frazzled too! Just about recovered from the lack of sleep due to the party mad youngsters and whining puppy but hey ho! Will definately be back next year. Ended up helping out with the racing last minute but enjoyed it. Got a video of our bitch Princess (lol!) in the racing (she raced in green) was a close call for the judge! All in all a great weekend.
