  1. yeah absolutely no doubt about what it came from, just will have to try harder to find out how far back. just from interest really isnt it. anyway, quick update, thought id share a pic of my keeper bitch now she's more dog-shaped here's one of the brindle offenders in case anyone was curious too... got let down over this male. sure he'll find another home soon though
  2. mad one. how far back was white in the blood? heres pic of my smallest dog and bitch. strongest on their feet so far. 20 days old here...
  3. while someone's mentioning rats... if someone puts poison down for them, how long does it last? as for shortage of them, christ no! they are everywhere!
  4. ok sound. so its not as odd as i thought. theres hope for them yet i have another question... is this what you'd call bronze? funnily enough, i gave 1 bitch and 1 dog a yellow string round their necks and theyve both started going brown
  5. cheers fellas, not had net access so couldnt reply. so it seems the odd ones do crop up. i was thinking they'd be big uns cos the bully throwback element, but weighed them all today at 1 week old and the brindles are the same weight as the others. only one pup is a monster, he's 25oz! what sorta weight is average on them? for the white pups mentioned, it'll probably be from a jack in the line, just as brindle will be from stafford in the line id imagine. (brindle could also be from whippet in the blood? my bitch is more leggy than my dog) those pups look cracking fellas. i'll put mor
  6. fair assumption its from stafford blood. how far back can these throwbacks appear from? been talking to some bulldog people today and they say bulldogs often throw pug pups from when pug was added in the late 1800s! not sure i buy that it seems too far gone. here's a pic of one the brindle girls and here's one my black girls... brindle does seem to have more of a "stop" no?
  7. hi, before i start, ive bred them because i wanted a pup to start work with as id got the parents as adults and not being experienced, i didnt want to lead em to the slaughter throwing them in. im not selling my pups as "working stock" despite they rat and my bitch being more leggy isnt bad at catching the odd rabbit, and the pups grandparents are proven workers. though rather ironicly, i have more local working homes who've booked a pup than i have pups, so they will be put to work. so please, i am just after some info ive been mooching around these boards and google thismorning as my
  8. errm, i think we all know the worst / funniest outcome! cheers though, best bet is like you say, just go for it and clench
  9. yeah if it goes in i shall post a pic for everyones amusement no trouble not sure how deep it is tbh, guess best way to find out is to lift the drain cover and see how far down it goes. not sure how theyre constructed in all honesty, there must be some structure inside it surely as the ground above it would give way otherwise?
  10. hi, i am looking to move a static caravan ive got into my garden. access is absolutely shocking, though doable with a tractor... just problem is my cess pit is under my lawn. does anyone know how solid it will be under there? i dont need to park the van on top of it, but it will for a few minutes have a 40ft static caravan and a tractor sat on top of it. excuse the pun, but am i gonna end up "in the sh*t" ??
  11. nah she's not worked. but her training is going well, she's probably the best behaved dog ive ever had aside my old sheepdogs when i was farming. but i dont shoot or know many folk who do, so ive had no opportunity really. not the easiest circles to get into from my experience. she's still a show pony and doing well, being placed at every show we've been to. im not in a rush to breed her, she'll be just shy of 2 when she's mated. and believe it or not it'll be her 4th season. i want a pup to keep for my next generation. she's going to a nice big brindle male from old skool lines so i
  12. as far as i read that, patterdales are not allowed to be docked. in wales at least. yet nearly every working terrier on here is a docked patterdale. do you guys dock them yourselves or how do you manage to get them docked?
  13. well after all this time, mine is almost ready to have some pups. give her a few more months, she's 18 months now... still a young dog, but she's beginning to mature now. crap pic but meh also got a new one the other day, a wee brindle chap. here he is at 10 weeks old... he's 13 weeks now and over 16 inch tall and 13kgs. will be enormous compared to my bitch once he's grown the chap in scotland, did you find anything up your way?
  14. coughed on my coffee there haha well said though fella. they are basically turning one of the greatest canine athletes into another bulldog freakshow.
  15. crackers these reds mate, i'd love one these one day
  16. ive had her longer than a pregnancy and can say 110% she hasnt been left alone with my dog because of how she was when we got her, i didnt wana risk coming home to find one of them dead so she's been kept with my bullmastiff bitch.
  17. hi thanks for the replies, sorry i have had net problems, yeah its not a problem for me her not coming in. its just odd when youre expecting her in and nothing. just wanting to know where she's at. i got her a few months back, she'd been attacked by the owner's staff. not major or anything just some cuts on her back. so yeah that and then moving to mine, with my 3 dogs when being nervous of dogs would probably be enough stress to mess up her cycle. she's settled in now and isnt in complete defence mode like she was when we got her. my other 3 all have the marks to show for it but har
  18. hi there, a friend of mine has a 1 eyed sprocker bitch pup going for £200 if anyone is interested. she says she'll still work no probs. not my dog, just said id try help find her a home. pup seems unphased by it, and you'd never know by seeing her run around.
  19. was just mooching around some classifieds seeing what dogs are about and came across these http://www.preloved.co.uk/fuseaction-adverts.showadvert/index-1032756836/f46786c3.html
  20. all good then just something ive seen a few times lately.
  21. i meant in this pic, looks like she's bearing weight on her pastern on the right paw. like on her wrist. does she do that all the time? you'll notice her when she's running it'll look like she's got some baggy slippers on. like i say, could just be in the 1 pic though randomly.
  22. nice pup, what lines is she from? not to gripe as she's lovely, is she always down on the right pastern like in the 1st pic or is it just an awkward position in the 1 pic?
