    Hello folks, just asking on the off chance of a day out bushing in Yorkshire or surrounding areas?. It's something that I find interesting but not something I've really done, my lurcher bitch will bush and will go pretty much anywhere but I want her to stay on my side of the bush and work that way instead of flushing stuff out to me!     Picked these 2 up on Monday. Just thought I'd show them off

    These are the 2 chicks we picked up last night. The Brown one is a crested cream legbar and the yellow one is a Wheaton maran. They are our first chicks so I'll be dipping into here for plenty of advice Thanks for looking

    there are some rhode island red cross light sussex hatching eggs in bradford if thats close to you. they make hardy good laying birds. the cocks at birth will be white/silver the hens yellow/brown. just verify that the cockeral used is a rhode island red and the hens light sussex as it doesnt work the other way round. tel no 01274-884821.     I've just had a sudden thought and a major lapse of concentration on my behalf! No point in incubating and hatching our own eggs if we only want a couple of laying hens! It would just be my luck to end up with cocks everytime. What is the earliest chicks can be sexed?

    Thanks for the replies, the main reason for wanting to hatch our own was for educational purposes for the daughter really, we want her to see how the chick hatches and progresses. There's plenty if pol hens around me for sale but as I said we would rather hatch them.
