    The only permissions so far are through a mate and near Oswestry. Am working on a couple on the outskirts of Llan, on the A5 side, both of which have plenty of bunnies. Would definitely be up for a trip out with the ferrets sometime.

    I'm not a million miles away.... Any deer about Llan or surrounding areas?? Heard rumour of something in the Horshoe pass from description it sounded like a fallow - but not convined. There are also apparently munties and roe near Oswestry, again I haven't seen them myself, but have heard it from experienced shooters. DSC and stalking are on my to do list

    Tell me about it! I now a few farmers but they are all tight lipped about permissions, I'm obviously not posh enough, or as I've only lived here 7 years maybe I'm still an outsider - give 25 more years they may give me the nod!

    Only to see how the lower classes amuse themsleves New to the fieldsports as grew up a city lad into shooting (phesants mainly, but just started on pigeons, longnetting at night is good fun too). Working on the wife to accept ferrets but no joy so far

    I've scrouged a deek from a mate and willl use that as a form to make papie mache bodies with PVA glue. Once set, I'll paint them with acrylic and then set them up on wire rods. May turn out crap but like I said I love messing about. If the results aren't too embarrasing I'll post a few pics. If all else fails I'll buy some. You never know there might be a market for hand cratfed decoys!!

    Anyone do any Long netting in the Wrexham/Oswestry area? Just been readin "The art of Long nettion" and the author is form around here. Have net will travel if anyone is interested?

    I went out with a mate a couple of weeks ago and now I'm hooked. There seems to be loads of woodies around here. Two questions, :- 1) Does anyone have any advice on the best place to get camo netting for a hide? 2) Any suggestions as I fancy making my own decoys as I like a bit of DIY?

    Yeah, The guy from JBS nets said you could single knot it but I always double knot becasue that's how I was shown how to do it rather than out of preference.

    I got a 500g spool of 10z Nylon from JDS nets at the BASC north wales game fair. Its dead easy to handle, you can single knot it (though I double-knotted out of habit) it's easier on your hands and it doesn'yt tangle like 4z or rot like hemp. Ithink it was £11.00 but I made about 17 nets with it and after the first couple they all look fine. Worth getting this stuff.

    Netrigger do you make em to order? A couple of mates an me clubbbed together for a coupe of fastnets but are thinking of getting a couple more.

    I have the chance to shoot duck this coming season (inland rather than foreshore). Can anyone clarify what non-lead shot I can use if my gun isn't proofed for steel shot?

    I recently bought a grubby little 16Bore baikal sbs for my lad to use. A mate did a great jon on rebluing the barrels and I've tidied up the woodwork, so it's now a nice little 16 bore Baikal. Trouble is it is a fixed choke andthe choke were not known by the seller. how can I determine what the choking is - or is it just a case of playing with a pattern plate and guessing??

    Hi guys New to this site. Have been interested in country sports for a number of years but just got Shotgun certificate last year - Into Phesant shooting, and want to get into pigeon duck etc. Have started ferreting with a few mates - good fun. Next ambitions are for FAC and to get into deer stalking . Based in Llangollen North Wales
