  2. alex i just raised him like the rest,we'll have a bit of craic this winter together the dog and I,hes 24 tts,i would have like him a bit taller and hes very light in weight, when you pick him up hes so light it would surprise ye.that should increase his take off speed, less drag from the wind
  3. well sad to say it was a disaster of a show,i stayed 40 minutes and left, very little attending it and I was told this is the final time its being held, but its completely done for.I can imagine the club put their best efforts in but it clashed with the Munster final hurling today and another show which was on in new ross im told. Its the 1st show i went to this season only because it was close by,i realise now why I dont attend many at all.the ingredients of the show were poor and the layout as basic as could be ,all in all just like the titanic it sunk from the minute it was started.if it does
  4. that is lovely, thats one happy child and puppy, lol
  5. thats me ranting by the way,in case you didnt spot it
  6. there was one irish lady working/living in dubai, had to take a week off work, paid for her tickets for her and 2 mates, flights cost her 800 euros and shes out of pocket big time,,i can just imagine the rest of the world coming to realise our heads of government are a bunch of pure fukin dimwits, our taoiseach could have stepped in and set a precedent and proved he has a set of balls instead of a fanny and madde sure the concerts went ahead just this time and then made rules and regulations from here on in...........but no,the spineless cnut showed what hes made of and hid somewhere in a corner a
  7. if the dog doesnt make the grade the only place id put him is in a pet home,i never move on the dogs when they dont work out.ive done it long while back only to find one of them roaming the street weeks later,so I took it and PTS.too many half hearted hunting men out there that swap and sell and get an itching for something new at the drop of a hat.Its a terrible hard thing to do at times but its best for the dog.I went to see a pup I gave to a lady a while back,it is in a pet home and I was betwixed and between placing it there, but to call in and see the dog lounged right across her sofa with
  8. well thats a bit of hope there thankfully,JD I cant wait to start him as hes ready to rumble big time.hes dancing out of his shoes at every bird and creature that moves in and around the fields and hills.Hes very laid back other than that and when out he just chills along side ye and never makes a fuss, most folk take to him more than any other dog I have,I know thats not going to catch game but i insist on my dogs and me being mates first and foeremost if that doesnt sound shite, lol
  9. and malt it has come to the surface that a lot of the signatures on the petition were forged.only in good old ireland, anything between 5 and .15 million euros lost due to a bunch of morons in Dublin...........shur what would ye expect from up there anyway lol

  11. I could paint on a little moustache under his nose and sell him to the circus lol
  12. great replies guys,Fieldmarshall,i never let him run till he was 12 months other than his usual fun runs with the other dogs in the local park.Desertbred I will give him all the chances in the world.i like the dog a lot,hes quiet and his temperament is spot on,and hes stone mad for action so he will have a lot of days out with me this season.I dont give up on the dogs that quick.Until im certain he wont make the grade he has a home for life, and he might surprise me and the son and show hes a capable dog at his job.Just stuck it up here to have an interesting discussion and see what the views
  13. this dog was reared well,he never wanted for anything.the breeder did a great job of them as pups.its just the way he came,as it was said time will tell I suppose.I cringe though every time I look at them.
  14. i road walk him all the time.i had him out for 2 hrs yesterday.hes walking at least 1 hour every day if not more.its not an exercise issue.
  15. superb,,,,,great way to have a dog and kid.if dogs had hands my mutt would have f****d up fingers(see other post)
  16. it was run last jan for the 1st time ever and it was 12 months old,i held it back big time as i saw the feet were not right at 7 months old.cant make out why hes gone like this.I will do a few photos of the deerhound in another few days, the photos I took are pure shit, thought i had a few good ones.lol
  17. have a close look at this lads front feet, what ye reckon.could this be a problem in the season coming?ive been thinking the dog is going to have trouble running full on with very flat feet, hes walked every day and i gave him calcium at one point to try rectify the problem but to no avail. im hoping he can run well as im very happy with his attitude and hes a grand little dog to keep.it'd be a shame if he couldnt make the speed for the job.anyone ever had a flat footed dog over the years?his diet is mostly fleash,beef/chicken and liver every now and then, plenty of pasta.all the other
