  4. hi all,now my other half took my new pup (whippet x bedlington) to the vets for his vacine jabs, now the vet said he was perfect ,weight and size and in good health, the vet asked what he is fed on,my girl explained he has been on minced up chicken carcass with ox heart, the vet explained that this may not be a good idea, and could cause health problems during the dogs life as it is not a balanced diet. now he has been fed on this by the bloke i purchased him from, and advised me that this is a great way of feeding as has done for years, now this bloke was a true dog man with good working lines

  12. Me and my father keep a few greyhounds, so when im tryin to get my Lurchers fit, i gallop them up the run after the hounds.. The gallop runs are about 300 yards uphill and are lightly sanded and ideal for dogs to run on even in the summer months. Bit of swimming through the summer months are great aswell, it works more muscles than running alone.. But i still give my dogs a bit of free running to let them stretch out.. What your doin with the bike is ok, it'll keep her fit! Im not a fan of it personally but it does work.. Maybe about 3-4 miles 2-3 times a week, mixed with some free-running n
  13. hi all ,just like to hear the ways you have/routines/excersise/diets for getting your dog as fit as you can for the season,i have a whippet /colliexgrey bitch, which is my first lurcher, she is approx 20month and is great she has been a great ferreting partner, will retrieve my shot quarry and has had a few on the lamp, now i would like to get her as fit as possible for next season ,as am very keen on having a good crack at lamping, apart from daily walks/games,ive now brought a mountain bike, which she will run along side on the lead ,how many miles,? do you guys put your dogs through, any ideas
  14. the same happened to me aswell sooner or later your ferrets are going to bite throught that wire and judging by the pictures you have some very nice ferrets to loose to be honest they wont be left alone,as im sure your right they may bite through it ,theyll only be in there whilst im having a beer/working around the garden/playing with the dogs, hour or so each day,but i will be keeping an eye out!

  17. hi all, thought id say a few words about this scope, as have put the ferreting on hold till september, thought id get the airgun out, but needed a replacement scope as damaged my previous one,i purchased the hawke sport hd 3-9x40, i set it up on friday ,and... well very pleased with it,good clear view, looks nice,it has a feature called map 6 on the reticle, simillar to mildot, but if you zero at 30 yards the dots positioning are calculated for drop in pellet at 5 yrd intervals(based on .22, at 12ftlb and average weight pellet)took it out saturday to pop of a few pigeons around the yard ,and a s
