  1. Odd that. I was out on the common walking the mutt and about four sets of carts came thundering past (trotters?) mostly coloured horses - must be something going on, but this is very south.
  2. Thanks for the enthusiastic input folks!
  3. Struggling to find Tika T3 hunter 20" s/c new anywhere, vague new deliveries in May apparently! Got looking at the Rem 700....... Your comments please........
  4. you don't need land to get sgc, just good reason (clays, vermin etc). feo will be checking to make sure youre not a fu**wit.

  7. Interesting site........... http://www.stevekershawfirearms.co.uk/index.html
  8. Tell you for free, if they took my FAC for something like that, I'd see them in court PDQ! Good point! But only if your ticket said "vermin" which is challengeable. .22rf that is, hornet be ok.
  9. Not likely to be a prosecution, more a removal of FAC ............. which nobody would want to admit.
  10. http://www.basc.org.uk/en/departments/deer...er-training.cfm Not a bad place to start.......
  11. Thanks chaps! Seems odd though that a kit that contains every calibre i can think of, does not have .243
  12. "looks like an open invitation to get some permission" I was just thinking the same Trappa!
  13. "Reading the beach" ............... where was that link?
  14. Cheers Martin. I have two kits, and the brushes and handles are not compatible :realmad: Odds one, the ones from the shops wont be either........knowing my luck!
  15. Pumping up a gun from 0-190bar takes all of five mins unless you got an air leak or a knackered pump ( AAS410) 3ltr bottle, AA S410 15 fills 7ltr bottle, ditto 27 fills 12 ltr bottle, ditto 40 fills Pump is fine, but get one with a filter and keep everything CLEAN!
  16. 'Errrr indoors bought me a gun cleaning kit for my birthday, but rather annoyingly it contains no brushes for .243 !!!! Does anyone know where I can buy seperate brushes etc, or is there a "modular" system for building up a collection, which all fits together as and when you add a gun to your collection? Cheers.
  17. He's right, to replace a rifle "one for one" you do have to send off for variation. It is free in this case.
  18. My land is crossed with footpaths and roads, houses nearby etc. Ok'd for 22lr no problem. Do your homework ref backstops and potential hazzards, be honest with the feo and have the quarry on the ground and you will be fine. Shooting experience is a bonus too. .17 hmr is seen as safer than 22lr. Good luck
  19. Despite what people think, they are not there to make sure you DON'T get a fac. In my experience they have been very helpful.
  20. Might give the wasp grubs a try this year! Just make sure they havent been sourced using insecticide though! Cymag is now illegal!
  21. "NB: I don't actually have any experience shooting centerfire/fullbore rifles, I just read a lot on the net...." B****r me, thats refreshing! Thanks for the info!
  22. Thanks for that chaps. Think i'll stick with .243, its very popular!
  23. Was set on .243 for roe, fallow and fox. Now someone with a lot of experience has cast doubt in my mind about caliber choice. Shooting distances will be 50m - 200m. Any advice greatly appreciated, especially suitability and cost.
